VL Turbo Conversion
in Part 5 of my VL Holden Commodore project I will take you through the conversion of the Nissan RB30 NA engine to a turbo engine, I have listed everything that we needed to do the conversion and incase you missed anything I will list them here. Extractors to suit turbo, machine face flat and change studs. Rebuild turbo changing seals, New Injectors to suit turbo (bought from Ebay), a turbo Computer (manual & auto are different), Exhaust system to suit and dump pipe, Fuel Pressure Regulator, turbo Intake. Some things that are general service items worth doing at the same time, New Spark Plugs, Leads, Timing belt, front main seal kit, fuel and oil filter, new 5lt engine oil and fresh coolant. Australia's Quickest BA XR6 Turbo
Phil Chain's XR6 turbo currently holds the record with an 8.4 at 166mph, but the boys had some problems getting it down the track at Jamboree and only (??) managed a couple of 9.1sec runs at over 160mph. It's a beast of a thing with a massive GT47R turbo. How soon until we see a 7sec pass from an XR6 turbo is Australia?





X275 Calais turbo runs 7.61 @ 181mph
After winding the Boost wick up a little, Cameron's Holden Calais street car runs personal best times at Sydney Dragway. Phil Penny’s wild Honda S600 is one of the wildest engine conversions we’ve ever seen. The car is powered by a 3.2L Toyota 2JZ engine Boosted by a huge Billet turbochargers 88mm turbine. With little room in the engine bay the turbo now hangs right out of the bonnet of the tiny Honda.
