One of our favorite trucks from the HPT Truck Shootout was this inline 6 cylinder 1936 Chevy pickup putting down 1000whp in a 3000lbs pickup... Not what you'd expect from a truck from this era!

More info at mighty6.com! Mighty 6 competing at the No Mercy Heads Up outlaw drag racing event held in Georgia in October 2011. We went with the hopes of qualifying and we did just that. We qualified 16 out of 22 entries and ran our personal best 1/8 mile 5.506 @128.56 mph. This was with 275 M/T Drag Radials and NO wheelie bars. We still like to race 1/8 mile because it seems to be easy on parts and safety. We lost first round to the number one qualifier. It was a fun weekend and learned a bunch of tuning tips from other racers willing to help us out.

Tri-power Rochester Model BC Chevy 235 Six
This is 3 carb set-up on a Chevy 235 inline Six. This intake is an Offenhauser for the 235. The carbs are large base Rochester BC's. The automatic choke is fed from a copper tube heat riser that extends into the Exhaust heated base. The tube exits the heated cavity to the atmosphere (does not pick up carbon from the Exhaust). Fuel line is plumbed entirely in solid brass pipe. The engine is 1959 vintage 0.60 over with the late high compression heads. 3/4 cam with mild lope can be heard in the video. Exhaust is temporarily fabbed outside the split Fenton Exhaust manifolds...so sounds a little odd with my little digital camera. Sounds a lot better in person!

Hot Rod 292 six cylinder
This engine was a collaboration between my dad and his cousin. It's a 292, .030 over. It's been balanced. It's got JE forged pistons that puts it at about 10.5:1 compression. It has an Engle cam with 231 @ .050 duration and .565 lift. The head is a lump port head by Self with Ferrea 1.94/1.6 valves, K-Motion springs, Bill Smith pushrods, and Harland Sharp 1.75 roller rockers. The oil pan is a Hamburger aluminum pan, and the timing cover is a Frank pattern finned aluminum unit, and it has a custom made ATI Super Dampner and aluminum Fidenza flywheel. The intake manifold is a Clifford 4 barrel, with a 2" Super Sucker and currently has a Holley 750 carb on it., This is going in a '37 Ford pickup with a Richmond 5 speed behind it.
