2013 Ford Fusion Test Drive & Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/ford/fusion/2013/?id=32972 The 2013 Ford Fusion gives you is a lot of car for the money. The mid-sized sedan segment is hotter than ever! It seems like a different manufacturer is releasing an updated and improved model every few months. The Koreans offer cars like the Kia Optima and Hyundai Sonata, Nissan has the all new Altima, and now Ford is ready to play catch-up with the all new 2013 Fusion. There are 3 different trim levels ranging in price from $21,700 - $32,200. For 2013 Ford is offering 3 different engine choices available with the Fusion. The base engine is a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder Duratec 16-valve engine that makes 175 horsepower and 175 lb-ft. of torque that manages 22 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway. The 1.4 liter EcoBoost engine is most likely going to be the most popular engine. While power output may not be that great at 178 horsepower and 184 lb-ft. of torque, the fuel economy ratings of 25 MPG in the city and 37 MPG on the highway will be the selling point. The most powerful engine is the 2.0 liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost which makes 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft. of torque with gas mileage ratings coming in at 22 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway. The transmission of choice will be the 6-speed automatic, but there is a 6-speed manual option. There is also an AWD model available. As the mid-size segment heats up, there will be front runners that do everything well and especially excel in one particular area. The Honda Accord has great engine choices, the Optima/Sonata get excellent fuel economy, and the Passat has a well sorted interior and comfortable ride. The spot where the 2013 Ford Focus rules is in the styling department. The Fusion just looks so good while in motion or when standing still. The front end is clearly inspired by Aston Martin, the headlights and wheels are aggressive, the roofline is similar to that of the Audi A7, and the rear tail lights look like they come from Maserati. The interior is much more mundane than the outside and that's OK. The styling is German inspired with a touch of simplicity. The ergonomics are excellent and there are many technological gadgets integrated like the Ford MyTouch system. The 2013 Ford Fusion is a great looking car with a nice selection of engines and a well sorted interior. The base price is very affordable and the higher trim levels come packed with all the bells and whistles that give the Fusion a very premium feel. 2013 Ford Fusion Walkaround & Car Video Review with Chief Vehicle Engineer Don Ufford
http://www.autobytel.com/ford/fusion/2013/ Ford's Chief Vehicle Engineer Don Ufford gives Autobytel viewers a couple of great insights into this totally redesigned automobile. The 3 different trim levels combined with the 3 optional engines give buyers a wide variety when shopping for a new Ford Fusion. The exterior styling carries forward to give the Fusion a commanding presecence. The sculptured lines run from the front of the car al the way to the back giving the car a more energetic feel. The Fusion has great character no matter what position you are viewing the car. The 2013 Ford Fusion sits on tire and wheel combinations that range from 16-inches to 19-inches. The powertrain combinations are as follows: a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder Duratec, a 1.6 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost, and a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost. Of course the smaller engine has the best fuel economy. The EcoBoost can be had in either an automatic or manual transmission. This 2.0 engine is also the top pick for those looking for a bit of spirited driving as the engine produces 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft. of torque. The 2013 Ford Fusion comes in both 2WD or AWD configurations. There is a hybrid model that can average 47 MPG combined. The gauge cluster features fully programmable screens to display information you deem necessary. The right screen offer info on climate control, navigation, or entertainment. The left screen is used to display fuel economy, trip information, vehicle systems, or a tachometer. The center stack employs a fully integrated 8-inch navigation screen which can control the phone, audio system, and climate. 2013 Nissan Altima Test Drive & Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/nissan/altima/2013/?id=32972 Nissan calls the 2013 Altima the most innovative Altima ever as this model represents the 5th generation. Practically every facet of the car has been upgraded for the better from the more stylish exterior, to the smooth design and finish of the interior; the Altima looks to distance itself from the pack in a very competitive sedan segment. The 2013 Nissan Altima comes in 7 different trim levels with the base 2.5 sedan costing $21,500. The fully loaded 3.5 SL tops out at $30,080. On the outside the first thing you notice about the 2013 Nissan Altima is the body lines which look more like Nissan's luxury line Infiniti. There are chrome accents everywhere and the rear LED taillights are hard to miss. The body and chassis are lighter thanks in part to the use of aluminum. The overall drag coefficient of the 2013 Nissan Altima was also reduced which in turn helps lower fuel consumption. The interior of the 2013 Nissan Altima is quite spacious for a mid size sedan. The materials used are very high quality and the interior features are nicely laid out. Again the Altima seems to take a que from the Infiniti design line. There are 2 different engines options. The first is a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 182 horsepower and 180 lb-ft. of torque. The Altima might seem a bit low in the power department but with the Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission, Nissan thinks the 2013 Altima will net 38 MPG on the highway making it one of the most fuel efficient sedans on the road. The other engine choice is a 3.5 liter V-6 that produces 270 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. Driving dynamics are much improved as the rear suspension now consists of a multilink setup based on the 370Z sports car. The ZF Sachs shock absorbers are more commonly found on high end luxury cars from Europe. The 2013 Nissan Altima has a trick Active Understeer Control System which keeps the driver in control. Understeer is eliminated by the computer as brake pressure is applied to the inside wheel automatically. The 2013 Nissan Altima comes loaded with a bunch of standard features. The seats have been redesigned and test to improve posture and reduce fatigue. There is an Advanced Display which makes it easy for the driver to get vehicle information and navigation instructions. The Altima comes standard with Nissan's safety shield which adds over 50 features including a Lane Departure Warning System, Blind Spot Warning System, and Moving Object Detection System. 86FEST Import Car Show Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ and Toyota AE-86 @ Fontana Auto Club Speedway
http://www.autobytel.com/scion/fr-s/2013/?id=32972 Autobytel's own FR-S fanatic T.J. Keon was recently invited out to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA for the first ever 86FEST, a gathering and celebration of all things Toyobaru and pays homage to the original AE-86 with everything from a car show to on track activities. We were fortunate enough to catch up with the man who loves little red Hachis more than anyone else, Antonio Alvendia, from Cipher Garage and MotorMavens.com and is responsible for 86FEST. Scion Racing driver Ken Gushi was also on hand to talk about drifting as well as daily driving an FR-S after signing a few autographs and smoking a few sets of tires. Finally we were able to catch up with Speedhunter Larry Chen where the Drift Photo aficionado shared a story of a very special Hachi Roku with only 48 original kilometers that had been kept in a basement for the past 25 years he found on a recent trip to Belgium. Honda Accord Sway Bar Bushings Replacement
A fastener by fastener tutorial for replacing the sway bar end bushings and frame bushings on 94-97 Accords. The common symptom of a failed sway bar bushing is a clunk or knocking sound when going over bumps. When one or more of the donut bushings crack metal to metal contact between the sway bar and the lower control arm occurs which causes the noise. For 1994-1997 Accords the bushings are sold separately and are Honda part number 51314-SM4-020. You will need a total of 8 (4 per side). In the video I say you can use penetrating oil on the frame bushings to make them slide on easier. I misspoke. Do NOT use petroleum based lubricants (such as penetrating oil) on the rubber and only use silicone based lubricants. Petroleum based lubes will harm the rubber silicone won't. All-New 2014 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid Sedan
The 2014 Accord Plug-in Hybrid Sedan features one of four efficient new powertrains for the all-new Accord. The Accord Plug-in Hybrid will also serve as the basis for a conventional hybrid version of the Accord Sedan, which will join the Honda Accord lineup in the summer of 2013. The 2014 Accord Plug-in Hybrid is powered by Honda's first two-motor hybrid system, and uses a new Earth DreamsTM 2.0-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine producing 137 horsepower, teamed with a powerful 124-kilowatt (kW) electric motor. Electric driving is supported by a 6.7 kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery, and total system output is 196 horsepower. To maximize driving efficiency, the uniquely designed two-motor hybrid system allows the Accord PHEV powertrain to move seamlessly between all-electric EV Drive, gasoline-electric Hybrid Drive; and direct Engine Drive. Fuel efficiency for the 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid is expected to exceed 100 MPG-e, and it's also expected to receive an Enhanced AT-PZEV rating from the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Beyond its function as a full-electric vehicle, owners of the 2014 Accord PHEV will be able to choose two additional driving modes to manage battery capacity and tailor the capabilities of the plug-in Accord to their own commute. In its default upon start-up, the Accord PHEV acts as a pure electric vehicle and will continue on in full-electric mode until battery capacity necessitates the automatic switch to gas/electric hybrid operation. At higher speeds or under high demand for acceleration, the gasoline engine can kick in to provide additional power. In "HV" mode, the plug-in Accord acts as a conventional hybrid, blending motor power between gasoline and electric to maximize fuel efficiency while maintaining the battery charge level. In "HV Charge" mode, the Accord PHEV blends gasoline and electric power while also augmenting the battery charge level. The 2014 Accord Plug-In Hybrid Sedan will feature an electric servo braking system similar to the setup on the Honda Fit EV, which allows for exceptionally natural brake pedal feel, while extending the range over which the regenerative braking can take place. In addition to its efficient powertrain, the Accord PHEV features remarkably swift charging times. The plug-in Accord can be fully charged from a low-charge indication point in less than three hours using a standard 120-volt household electrical outlet, and in less than one hour using a 240-volt "Level-2" charger. The free HondaLink™ EV smartphone application will allow owners to easily monitor the charging state of the Accord PHEV. Based on the Touring trim level of standard Accord Sedan, the 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid Sedan will feature three exterior color choices, including two standard Accord shades (White Orchid Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl) plus a model-exclusive Burnished Silver Metallic exterior color choice. The Accord PHEV will also feature a weight-saving aluminum hood, 17-inch forged alloy wheels, a unique front bumper along with enhanced underbody aerodynamic treatments. A host of visibility technologies are standard on the 2014 Accord PHEV, including a rearview camera, an expanded-view driver's mirror, Honda's new LaneWatch™ blind-spot display, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights (DRL), and LED mirror-mounted turn indicators. The 2014 Accord Plug-in Hybrid Sedan will be built in Sayama, Japan.

Since I had this RL in my shop that had a check engine light AND an ABS light I thought it was a perfect opportunity to put this video together. I get asked all the time about my 'special tool' and it's really nothing more than a Honda 2 pin connector with the input wires soldered together. These connectors might be harder to find than you think but if you run across a junk honda and one of these is on the harness grab it. Even if you don't have the tool a paper clip or piece of wire will do the exact same thing so don't sweat it if you don't have the tool because shorting the connector is all you need to do.
