Here at RK Motors Charlotte, you know we're famous for finding unbelievable
cars, and this 1979 Thunderbird certainly qualifies. On the one hand, you
might be thinking that with over 100,000 T-Birds built in '79, this one
can't be rare, but on the other hand, how many have just 4219 original
The forgotten Thunderbirds 1977-1978
A video tribute to the nearly forgotten 77-78 Ford Thunderbird. Every
carshow has a 55-57 T-bird sitting around, and the big square birds, but
the poor 77-78 Thunderbird was the hottest selling car for Ford Motor
Company in the late 70's. Sit back and take a trip down to the birds nest
to rediscover a rare bird.
Thanks for watching.
1979 Ford Thunderbird
Here's my 1979 T-bird, with the original 351M. It has a little work done to
it, it has 3.55's in the 9 inch with a Detroit Locker, the FMX was rebuilt
with a shift kit installed, the Exhaust is true duals (you can tell by the
sound) with Hooker Supercomp headers and Flowmaster 40's on 2-1/2" pipe.
Not a bad car, it was my first ride.
1959 Thunderbird Convertible
Barry Hilbert shows off his 1959 T-Bird "Square Bird" to Lance Lambert,
host of television's "Vintage Vehicle Show". Why did Ford turn the small
"Little Bird" into a much larger four passenger car? How come these cars
have no frames and why where they such a favorite of demolition derby
drivers? More information about the "Vintage Vehicle Show" can be found by
orange crush in action.AVI

48 Ford F1 Pick-up Lifted 4x4 Mud Bogger and Street Rod
Just a little walk around of our 1948 Ford F1 Pick-up. It sits on a 78 F150
frame that has been substantially beefed up, has a Reverse cut Dana 44
front, a 9" Rear, 31 Spine axles, 3.50 Gears, NP205 Transfer case, Warn
hubs, 351M, Edelbrock Intake, Edelbrock 600cfm carb, mild cam, C6 auto with
Stall conv, long tube headers, dual 3" Exhaust, Edelbrock RPM Series Mufflers, Rancho
Suspension, Eagle Alloy wheels, Body Lift and Suspension lift, Mickey
Thomson 33 x 14.50 tires, etc. It's seen it's fair share of mud and a lot
of road miles. We are planning on repainting it in the near future, just
trying to decide on the color scheme. If you have any thoughts on what
color combos would look nice, just let me know.
