The graph is a little bit messed up because the max power is in 4th gear, and because the top of 4th is above 155mph, the car limited itself, thus causing the drop in power in 4th gear. Despite this, the numbers were still: MaxTQ=648.3ft/lbs and MaxHP=approximately 440whp. Once we get the limiter removed, the car should put down 500 hp and 700+ft/lbs of torque.
C55 AMG (RENNtech Headers) LOUD SOUNDS!! Revving + Parking Garage!
Hey everyone! I know a lot of you have been asking for a sound video of my C55, so here you go! I started off the video with a LOUD cold start, let the car warm up for 10 minutes and then went over to one of my local parking garages for some fun! If you ever do things like this make sure to let your car warm up to running temperature so the oil can warm-up and cycle through all of the mechanical components inside the engine! I plan on doing many more sound videos, including ones with more driving footage and pulls, but this time I didn't have anyone else to help me film so it would have been difficult to film that, but I figured this would do for now until I make another one! The modifications done to the car that affects sound are: Secondary Cat and Resonator delete, RENNtech Short Tube headers, and a RENNTECH Carbon Fiber airbox. Renntech SL65 vs Ferrari 458
The Ferrari is stock. My SL65 has the stage three Renntech package. That's the ECU, TCU, wheels, tires, suspension module, Exhaust, toe links, Intercooler pump upgrade, and carbon fiber airbox upgrade. It's making 730hp and 930tq. We had two races. The first one was from 40-130 and the Ferrari didn't hear my three honks. He took of a bit late letting me get out front early in the race, and that's where I stayed. During the second race, I got all the way into the throttle a little too early resulting in massive tire spin to about 70mph. By then, the Ferrari was way out front, and all I could do was sit back and watch. Overall, in a straight line, we both decided that this was a pretty even match up. In my opinion, the slight nod would probably go to the 458. BTW, if you haven't smelled the interior of a 458 yet, it by itself is worth the price of admission!
