turbo diesel rabbit pickup project start to finish
Buy a bigger one and give the Arabic countries that hate us all your money.....NOT. Have fun making somthing that gets incrediable MPG and still go fast. 37-45 mpg tuned to go pretty fast. If you want to save even more money you can easily adjust the fuel screw and get over 50. and go 65-70 with the A/c blowing cold.

Turbo Diesel Mini Bike

This is an idea I've had since I was a kid, and after watching Mike Cberts Diesel mini bike video I was inspired to put together my own! The frame has been around since I was 4 years old! At that point it was powered by a 3 hp Briggs and Stratton and is a Fox corporation, Trail Bug probably from the 60's or early 70's. The engine is a copy of a 10 hp Yanmar single cylinder Diesel engine and the turbo is similar to the one on my Honda CX-500 turbo motorcycle. The engine runs at 3,600 rpm max and top speed so far is 39.3 mph.
Here's a description of 2 stroke & 4 stroke Diesel engines:

Old start/Cold Start Rudy's 1963 Mack B81 w/ 711 Mack Turbo Diesel. First start in 10+ years.
Rudy hauled home his most recent purchase today, a 1963 Mack B81. Two fresh batteries got it to crank after some tinkering with the terminals. Had to spray some PB in the turbo and pry it free with a screwdriver. Started on ether. It's not drawing any fuel at the moment, that's a project for another day. For now we found out his contraption is a runner!

vw rabbit turbo diesel autocross race
first time out racing the diesel rabbit, 2 days after buying it, on one hour of sleep after spending 36hrs straight preparing it for this race. It was a high-adrenaline environment, and I was wearing steel toe boots!
Managed to beat an integra, a talon AWD turbo, a lotus elise turbo, a bigblock corvette and a rotary powered mg before getting eliminated. what fun!

Poor quality vid - sorry...
1981 Volkswagon Rabbit diesel 0 - 60 from a dead stop. I wasn't really giving her the berries, just wanted a quick video.
I bought this car 6 months ago for a good fuel milage car. It needed brake lines, and I never really had the ambition to change them until the other day. I've been driving this car for two weeks now and absolutly love it. As a matter of fact, I prefer to drive this over my Cadillac Fleetwood. In the two weeks of driving it (about 15 miles a day), I never knew if the fuel guage worked because it never moved off 1/3 tank. So just before shooting this vid, I filled it up. 6.0 gallons! (And yes, the guage works!)
The only reason it is so loud, it there is absolutly no muffler. I do have one, but it boils down to the ambition thing.... Someday - probly not today. Tomorrow doesnt look good either...
