This full-sized sedan packs 365 horsepower while getting good fuel economy numbers. The SHO is the top of the line Taurus model packed with all the features and options that Ford could cram into this vehicle. The base price on the Taurus SHO is $39,200 and there are really no other vehicles in this segment that can match the performance at this price point.
The 2013 Ford Taurus SHO is powered by a twin-turbo 3.5 liter V-6 EcoBoost engine that gives the power of a V-8 with the fuel economy of a V-6. This engine also features direct injection which sprays fuel directly into the cylinder; which in turn gives you optimal performance with lower emissions. The power output is 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft. of torque. The 6-speed automatic transmission features steering wheel mounted shifters. Power is put down to the ground through an AWD system that uses Torque Vectoring which keeps the car in control by applying brake pressure between the front and rear wheels. This not only keep the passengers safe and the drive in control but it also allows the Taurus SHO to hug corners.
On the outside the 2013 Ford Taurus SHO gets a couple of updates over the previous model. There are new projector beam headlights with daytime running LED lights that make a real visual impact. The SHO model gets a unique piano-black mesh grille with chrome accent pieces. Also exclusive to the SHO model is the sporty and functional rear spoiler that increases downforce. Underneath the full-size sedan lives a true dual Exhaust system that not only aids in the performance department; but it also looks and sounds cool. 19-inch aluminum rims are standard on the 2013 Ford Taurus SHO model but you can upgrade to either 20-inch machined or 20-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in high performance tires.
On the inside the 2013 Ford Taurus SHO sports Multi-contour seats with active motion which give the front passengers a lower back and upper leg message. These leather trimmed units have both a heating and cooling mechanism built in. The push button start is a must for any technologically advanced sedan. The instrument cluster features a speedometer in the middle surrounded by a LCD screen on each side that is customizable to display the information that is most important to the driver. Both the steering wheel and the voice activated SYNC system can control the radio, phone, navigation, climate controls, and more. The stereo system features 12 speakers located throughout the interior of the car and HD Radio is standard on the SHO. All of the technology in the 2013 Ford Taurus SHO is easily within reach.

When the Japanese mid-sized sedans starting winning the sales war, Ford shifted their attention to SUVs. And the Taurus was eventually discontinued being replaced at the mid-size level by the Fusion and at the full-size level by the Ford 500. Well now the Taurus is back and better than ever. The 6th generation debuted in 2010 and has now received a refresh for the 2013 model year. There are 4 different trim levels including the base SE which costs $26,600, the SEL which costs $28,800, the Limited which costs $33,000, and the SHO which costs $39,200 and is reviewed elsewhere.
The 2013 Ford Taurus is a full-sized sedan that was given a mean and sharp look that follows Ford's new design direction. Up front the grille, projector headlights, and LED running lights really grab your attention. The Taurus has a wide stance at over 76-inches which give this sedan a comfortable ride. Out back the 2013 Ford Taurus features an integrated spoiler on the trunk, and a chrome-tipped dual Exhaust system. Depending on the trim level there are a couple of different wheel packages. The SE trim gets 17-inch rims, the SEL trim gets 18-inch rims, and the Limited gets 19-inch rims. There is an option to upgrade to large 20-inch polished aluminum wheels.
The 2013 Ford Taurus comes in both FWD and AWD configurations. There are 3 different engine to choose from. The base engine is a 3.5 liter V-6 that makes 288 horsepower and 254 lb-ft. of torque. This engine has a 6-speed automatic and gets 19 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway. The second engine is a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine that makes 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft. of torque. This smaller displacement engine gets the best gas mileage at 22 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway. The top of the line engine is a twin-turbo 3.5 liter found on the SHO model. On the inside the Taurus gives you a premium interior with lots of technology and passenger amenities. The seats are high quality leather and feature power adjustable controls with both heating and cooling option. Even the rear seats have a heater function which is usually reserved for vehicles in the high end luxury category. The 2013 Ford Taurus is packed with many technological options like HD Radio, ambient lighting, Adaptive Cruise Control, MyKey, SYNC, and MyFord Touch to name a few.
