1970 Corvette ZR1 thru the gears
A quick blast thru the gears with an all-original 1970 ZR1. The ZR1 was Zora Duntov's last high-compression Corvette designed specifically for SCCA class B racing. The ZR1 Special Purpose Engine Package consisted of the 350/370hp LT1 solid lifter engine stuffed into an L88 prepped chassis which includes: M22 HD 4spd, F41 springs, shocks & spindle struts, HD Aluminum Radiator, Lightweight flywheel/clutch combo, J50/J56 Dual pin front brake calipers, HD Posi-Traction (4.56:1 in this case), as well as high-torque starter. ZR1's could not be ordered with a radio, or power accessories. Deluxe interior and tilt/tele column were the only "options" permitted. The ZR1 was the last production Chevrolet to be sold with the warning: "Not recommended for normal driving situations."

Hennessey C7 Corvette Runs 200 MPH on Texas Toll Road
On December 11, 2013, a 700 HP Hennessey C7 became the first 2014 Corvette Stingray to break the 200 mph barrier by reaching a maximum speed of 200.6 mph. This was achieved on a closed section of the Grand Parkway which connects I-10 to Hwy. 290 on the west side of Houston, Texas. Officials from TxDOT, Texas DPS and TransCore were on hand to witness the testing of the EZ tag toll system. Special thanks to TxDOT Chairman, Ted Houghton. The Hennessey C7 Corvette was equipped with the company's HPE600 upgrade with the addition of a 100 HP Nitrous Express kit.
