$1,000,000 1971 Ford XY Falcon GTHO Phase 3 currently owned by Paul Carthew

Falcon XY 9-second true street car
Arty's Ford XY runs into the 9s for the first time. The car was driven to
and from the track and raced in full street trim (3690lb with driver) for
consistent 9s and then driven to the pizza shop to celebrate!
Dandy Engines powered naturally aspirated 440ci Windsor V8 running on
98-octane pump fuel through the mufflers and street radial tyres. Making
800hp the car has room to improve yet.

Ford Falcon GTHO Phase 4 test drive
The Falcon GTHO Phase 4 is one of the rarest muscle cars ever built by
Ford. Only 4 were ever made and 3 are beleived to still exist. 3 were
purpose built for production car racing and only one made it through the
production line before the program was cancelled due to the "muscle car
scare" in Australia.
It is to Australia, what the Mustang Boss 429 is to the USA - The
ultimate muscle car.

The XY Falcon was produced from October 1970 to March 1972 and is today
renowned for being one of the great Australian classics. Ever since Paul
was taken to Calder Park as a kid by his father the XY GT had become an
obsession. When he came across his XY in 2004 (which started off life in
February 1971 as Fairlane) he knew he had to have it.
VH 308 trying to catch the XY GT 351 at Phillip Island
The XY pulled out to avoid a slower car and I had to lift off the throttle,
he got away from me but I got most of it back under brakes. This was at a
PIARC sprint back in '06, I still had a dodgy old video camera that had
trouble coping with it all.
