Banks Top Diesel Dragster: NHRDA Nationals
On March 6th, 2010 the Banks crew tested out the rail's new "Stroker" 427 cu. in., twin-turbo 7.0L Duramax engine at the NHRDA Nationals in Wittmann, Arizona. The numbers for this trip out were 7.670 @173.54. We were a little faster back in April 2009 when we ran 7.17 @ 181.08. We've also run a best trap speed of 190MPH with the car on a separate test session. All those runs were with our twin-turbo'd Duramax, and now we're getting set to hit the track with a supercharged configuration. Stay tuned for that! 1,600 Wheel Horses on the Dyno...
Anytime you take a couple F2 chargers feeding a whole bunch of cubes and add methanol even on only half of max Boost it is quite a show.. Intake gasket that didn't want to play cut the day short. Around 1,600whp through an auto! Lots left in the car and the Dyno. Over 1K ftlbs by 4 thousand... Easily the new top HP record for the Dyno without even trying yet. Had manners like a street car just a bit more bark. Built by Mark Werdehausen of Tydo racecars. A few of the components came from Taliaferro machine shop. On the Superflow Autodyn 30 in springfield, Mo.
