Superior performance and high efficiency: the SL 63 AMG is available with a choice of two power outputs for the first time. The AMG 5.5-litre V8 'biturbo' (twin-turbocharged) engine delivers 395 kW (537 hp) and 800 Nm of torque. If the AMG Performance package is specified, these figures rise to 415 kW (564 hp) and 900 Nm -- more power than any other competitor in this segment. The result is high-calibre performance, as underlined by the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 or 4.2 seconds, and to 200 km/h in 12.9 or 12.6 seconds respectively. Top speed is 250 km/h (electronically limited), although this rises to 300 km/h (likewise electronically limited) with the AMG Performance package on board. NEDC combined consumption comes in at 9.9 litres per 100 kilometres for both power outputs -- a full 4.2 litres or 30 percent lower than for the outgoing model.
The eight-cylinder powerplant with the abbreviation M 157 features a combination of innovative high-tech components for high power output, and it delivers exemplary, low fuel consumption. In addition to spray-guided direct petrol injection, the engine boasts an all-aluminium crankcase, twin turbochargers, four valves per cylinder with camshaft adjustment, air/water intercooling, alternator management and an ECO start/stop function. The weight-optimised AMG sports Exhaust system with two chromed twin tailpipes produces a distinctive engine sound.

800 HP Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series tuned by RENNtech - Revs and Light Acceleration
This incredible Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series showed up to the 2011 STL European Autoshow. It is 1 of only 3 in the US finished in white, and it was tuned by RENNtech to now produce 800 HP! The owner said that it had ECU and other engine mods as well as extensive carbon fiber upgrades, including a full carbon fiber undercarriage. Truly an awesome car.

A video I made of this very rare 670hp SL65 Black Edition monster. I was lucky enough to see this car in person! So I thought I'd make a video of the pictures/videoclips I took of it. As you can see in the video, the car was surrounded by bodyguards, making it a bit tricky to film, but I survived.
Update: The driver doesnt own this car, it is from Germany (license plate LB = Ludwigsburg) from the Mercedes factory, so the car was being advertised in London.

This extreme Mercedes-Benz starts with a 6.0-liter twin turbo V12 engine.
This engine cranks up to 670 hp; with 738 pounds of torque! That is 50 more hp then you get in a Ferrari 599! This car isnt fast-it is MIND BOGGILING fast!
0-60 in 3.9 seconds and in an effort to not completely blow your mind, Mercedes-Benz has limited the top speed to 199 miles per hour.
The SL65 AMG Black has a very muscular appearance, with rear wheel arches to accommodate larger wheels and a wider body. It features a fixed hardtop and was engineered with a liberal use of carbon fiber, a vented hood, vented front fenders and bumper, reduces weight by 570 lbs.
It also features a retractable spoiler which generates 77 lbs. of downward force at speeds over 75 mph.
The interior is just as sexy, with Napa leather and alcantara trim, as well as magnesium and aluminum doors.
The SL65 AMG Black Series is an SL65 AMG on steroids.

SL65 Black Series by RENNtech
RENNTECH and Domani Motors have teamed up to create this monster of an SL65 BS. The car is equipped with the RENNTECH Performance Package 1 which includes ECU Upgrade, RENNTECH Exhaust, and Dual Intercooler Pump Upgrade. This package brings power output up to 805HP and 1000 LB-FT at the crank.
