Here is As Promised here is another cold start video with not one, not two but three Oldsmobiles. From the 60's
In part 2 I keep attempting to start the '68 and travel 300 miles back home to Detroit to fire up the '67 Delta 88.
I forgot to mention that all 3 cars are Michigan Cars. The two Delmonts are original and the Delta has been restored.
The delta features a 425 High Compression V8
1973 PONTIAC LEMANS ON CHASSIS DYNO
HERE ARE A COUPLE OF PULLS ON THE CHASSIS Dyno. IT WAS LATER DISCOVERED THAT WHEN THE CAR JUMPED THE ROLLERS IT BENT THE DRIVESHAFT. JUST ANOTHER PART BROKEN TO ADD TO THE SCRAP PILE.
1967 Pontiac Firebird 20 Year Cold Start
We work on starting my new 67 Firebird after it has been sitting for 20 years untouched in Wasilla, Alaska. The tags expired in 1989. It has the original Overhead Cam Inline Six Engine. Before starting it we put oil down the cylinders, primed the oil system, changed the oil and replaced the Cap, Rotor, Plugs, and Points. A Complete restoration is planned for the immediate future.

There are loads of videos where people run an engine at full rev with no oil in it, and the engine seizes.
Running it a medium rev, I wanted to see how long it would run with no lubrication, and I was surprised.
However if the car was driving and the engine was under load, it would be dead in minutes!
