Repair Automotive Paint Scratches With Spray Paint
http://scratchwizard.net/bumper_search/ STEP-BY-STEP DIRECTIONS: 1. Clean: :01 - :27. First with soapy water or glass cleaner. Next with wax and grease remover. 2. Scuff: :27 - :45. With grey pad and firm pressure, scuff all paint surfaces within 24 inches of damage. Clean. 3. Sand. :45 - 1:31. Apply masking tape around scratches to prevent repair from 'growing.' Sand the damage with 220 grit sandpaper. 4. Fill (if necessary): 1:32 - 2:44 . If damage cannot be smoothed with sandpaper, fill with putty and spreader. Wait 5-10 minutes to dry (use heat gun below 50 degrees fahrenheit). Sand with 220 grit sanpdpaer. 5. Apply primer: 2:45 - 4:45 . Cover nearby areas with paper. Shake for 30 seconds and apply 4 lights coats. Wait 15 - 20 minutes to dry (use heat gun below 50 degrees fahrenheit). Remove Sand with 600 grit sandpaper. Keep paper wet. Sand edges of primer until smooth. 6. Apply base coat: 4:45 - 7:40. Shake can 30 seconds. Test spray pattern on cardboard. Apply multple light coats, vertical and horizontal, being sure to 'blend' new paint with old. Wait 5-10 minutes to dry. Never apply masking tape to the part your are painting to avoid 'picture frame' effect. 7. Apply clear coat: 7:40 - 9:34. Apply light coat. Apply heavier coat. Clear coat is dry in 20 minutes.

Car Damage Repair (Part 1)
Comments REQUIRE APPROVAL. THINK before posting. NOTE: I am NOT a Car Care Expert, nor claim to be. NOTE: This is =NOT= a Tutorial on how to repair a vehicle. It is a progress series. NOTE: The paint was from the dealership I bought the car from. Can't help you there. Dodge part (?). The Epic Tale, of fixing a car, after some dunce taxi driver hits it. Fortunately, the bumper, PHYSICALLY, is 100% undamaged! Cosmetically, it was a total mess. Before I started this video, I got half the "Darlington Stripes" off if it, and in this segment, I remove the rest of them. Some scratches remain, and there's some chipped off paint. Tocuh-up painting is in the next part. BEFORE SOMEONE SAYS IT: No, I do NOT have the time, or money, to go though the hassles of insurace companies, getting it appraised, quoted, and replacing the bumper. The damage is fairly neglegable, and when it's done, it'll not be perfect, but will look like other parts of the car. ALSO: Once all is done, the receipts for the materials will be sent to the cab company who was responsible. Fortunately, it's not going to be a major nightmare.

Best Paint Touch-up Tricks: Mercedes G55
THIS CAR WAS EVENTUALLY REPAINTED. My techniques here, with the understanding of the customer, had the best-case final results of 70% to 75% "better or touched-up" appearance. This is one of the worst key scratches I have ever seen. This car needed to be repainted, but I thought I would give it a shot...nothing to lose. It covered 3 separate door panels with varying depth levels. 98% of the 9 feet was through the clear coat, paint, base, and into the substrate. EXTREMELY bad scratch. In this episode, I discuss multiple ways to approach this type of paint damage. See how it turned out.
