2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Test Drive & Crossover SUV Video Review

http://www.autobytel.com/new-cars/hyundai/santa-fe/?id=32972 The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe is a brand new redesign that makes this the 3rd generation automobile. It's hard to believe that the Santa Fe came out back in 1998. Back then there were not many crossovers on the market yet. Now that practically every automobile manufacturer has a crossover, Hyundai is playing it smart. They have gotten rid of the Veracruz model and then Hyundai has created a long wheel base and a short wheel base Santa Fe. Prices start at $24,450. There are 2 different engine options available on the 2013 Santa Fe Sport. The first is a direct injected 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 190 horsepower and 181 lb-ft. of torque. The second engine is a 2.0 liter turbocharged and gasoline direct injected motor that makes 264 horsepower and 269 lb-ft. of torque. The standard transmission is a 6-speed automatic. Fuel economy is 31 MPG combined for the turbo and 33 MPG combined for the naturally aspirated engine. On the inside the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport has a great 8-inch Navigation as an option. The panoramic sunroof is ultra cool and lets rear passengers enjoy the fresh air and sunlight. The Santa Fe Sport comes standard with many great features like cruise control, power windows and locks, Bluetooth, and steering wheel mounted audio controls to name a few. Safety wise the Santa Fe comes with 7 airbags, stability control, traction control, and anti-lock brakes. These items are all standard on the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. Many improvements have been made and maybe the most important is the reduction in weight. The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe weighs 266 lbs. less than the previous model. That weight reduction has a positive effect on fuel economy. The Santa Fe Sport can carry up to 5 people. The rear seat is a 40/20/40 split bench making for a versatile crossover SUV. You can order the Santa Fe in either FWD or AWD configurations. The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is priced right alongside its competition. But with the Santa Fe you get more standard features for your money along with a great 10 year 100k mile warranty. 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/hyundai/veloster/2013/?id=32972 When the Hyundai Veloster was released in 2011 many enthusiasts were excited to see a fantastic looking and affordable sport compact car that would give the other hot hatchbacks in the segment a run for their money. The let down came when the hood was opened to reveal a 138 horsepower 1.6 liter naturally aspirated engine that was more suited for fuel efficiency rather that for performance. Well now you can have your cake with the release of the 2013 Hyundai Veloster turbo! The base price on the turbo model is $21,950. The 2013 Hyundai Veloster turbo is powered by a twin-scroll turbocharged 1.6 liter 4-cylinder engine based on the standard Veloster Gamma GDi engine. The turbo motor has a lower compression ratio at 9.5:1 to handle the added Boost pressure. The gasoline direct injection (GDi) motor also sports Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT). Power output for the turbo engine is 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft. of torque which puts the Veloster turbo right in the middle of the sport compact car pack. The standard transmission is a 6-speed manual but there is also is 6-speed automatic version with paddle shifters. The manual is the more fuel efficient transmission at 26 MPG in the city and 38 MPG on the highway. On the outside the Hyundai Veloster turbo model is distinguishes itself from the regular model in a few ways. For started, the Veloster turbo has a huge wide-mouth front grille opening to let in vast amounts of cool air. There is also a lower lip spoiler on the turbo model. Another cool feature found on the turbo-only model are the LED lights front and back. The front projector headlights sport LED daytime running light accents which are normally reserved for high end luxury vehicles. The wheels on the Hyundai Veloster turbo are 18-inch alloy units that combine both a matte and chrome finish. The limited edition matte gray pain job will set you back an additional $800, but the finished result is well worth it. The standard non-turbo Veloster features squared Exhaust tips while the turbo model has rounded ones. The 2013 Hyundai Veloster turbo can be considered one of the hottest new hatchbacks on the market. Not only does the Veloster turbo have over 200 horsepower, but this car can get up to 38 MPG on the highway. The 2013 Veloster turbo looks great and comes packed with tons of standard features. 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Test Drive & SUV Video Review
The Hyundai Santa Fe has been totally redesigned for the 2013 model year. There are now two distinct wheelbases being offered: a short wheelbase called the Sport and a long wheel base that adds a third row of seating. The extended version features a few different design elements as it replaces the Veracruz in Hyundai's line-up. If you are trying to decide between the Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Sport; here are some numbers that might help you with your decision. The smaller Sport carries 5 passengers while the larger model can seat up to 7. The longer wheelbase adds 8.5 inches to the overall length, there is 4 more inches at the wheelbase, and has almost 39 more cubic feet of interior room. See Details on the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe http://www.autobytel.com/hyundai/santa-fe/2013/?id=32972 The Santa Fe is a vehicle that is very important to Hyundai because in the 90's when the company was struggling, the Santa Fe kept the brand going. Now this third generation SUV is bigger, better, and more powerful than ever. The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe has 3 different trims. The first is the 5 passenger Sport model which comes with 2 different engine choices. The second is the Santa Fe Limited which seats 6 passengers thanks the Captain's Chairs in the second row. The third trim is the GLS which is essentially the entry level model but has seating for 7 passengers. Another distinction that is made between the Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Sport is what lives under the hood. The long wheel base models can be had with a 3.3 liter GDi V-6 engine that produces 290 horsepower and 252 lb-ft. of torque. Hyundai also lightened the larger Santa Fe by 330 lbs. giving this crossover SUV the best power to weight ratio in the segment. Fuel economy is 18 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway. The transmission is a 6-speed automatic. From an appearance standpoint the Santa Fe has a nice fresh modern look with a big bold grille, massive headlights, and streamlined look which is pretty unique for a crossover. Power lift gates are very important for buyers in this segment. If you want an automatic lift gate you will have to opt for the Limited model. Driving dynamics are excellent. The driver sits high up in the vehicle offering great visibility. The steering is as true as it gets for a crossover. Overall you are going to have a great ownership experience when you set up to the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe. 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Test Drive & Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/hyundai/genesis-coupe/2013/?id=32972 The 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is back with a newly redesigned look and upgraded engine choices. The Genesis Coupe has always been lumped into the muscle car category with its front engine, rear-wheel drive platform. But the muscle cars have always held a distinct power advantage until now. The base engine for the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder. Power is up 30% from 210 horsepower up to 274 horsepower. An upgraded dual-scroll turbo, larger Intercooler, and Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing help achieve these better power figures. Fuel economy for the 2.0 liter engine is 21 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway. The other engine choice is a direct-injected 3.8 liter V-6 which produces 348 horsepower. Fuel economy for this engine is expected to be 18 MPG in the city and 28 MPG in the highway. There are two transmission choices available in the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe: an 8-Speed automatic or a 6-speed manual. On the outside the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe retains the same overall shape but the styling has been changed to reflect the rest of the Hyundai line-up. Up front the Genesis receives a more aggressive look thanks to an upgraded hood with two scoops, new front fascia, and larger bumper opening. Out back the Exhaust gasses exit out dual asymmetrical chrome pipes. The lights have been upgraded to include LED daytime running lamps which can be found on high end luxury cars. The R-Spec and Track editions will receive huge 19-inch alloy wheels. On the inside the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe features an available 360-watt Infinity sound system. There are steering wheel controls for the audio system and the usual iPod, USB, and auxiliary ports. A navigation system can be purchased as an option that includes a 7-inch touch screen monitor. The rear seats have been designed with comfort in mind. Instead of stuffing 3 seats in the rear; Hyundai has decided to go with only two. This means there is a ton of room for the rear occupants. When the Hyundai Genesis Coupe arrived on the scene a few years ago it was certainly a respectable car. In fact it was this car and the sedan version that really gave Hyundai a Boost in the automotive world. Now with the 2013 model there is more power! The base model 2.0 liter Hyundai Genesis Coupe starts at $24,250 and the top of the line 3.8 liter with the track package will retail for about $33,000. However, it comes with a price to match, stretching Hyundai's reputation for offering value for money further than any car it has ever released before. The five-year warranty package remains, as does the powerful 2.2-litre diesel engine, but the Santa Fe now costs a similar amount to Honda's new CR-V. New Hyundai Santa Fe, first drive. Mainz, 10.07.12. The 2,2-litre diesel, 197 bhp(3800 revs) and 421 Nm of torque(1800-2500 revs), with one of the lowest CO2 emissions in the segment. 4WD and 6sp automatic gearbox. 7-seaters version. COMFORT Longer, lower and wider than its predecessor, with the same 2700 mm wheelbase, the New Generation Santa Fe has a stronger presence(L- 4690, W-1880,H-1680mm). Front- and second-row legroom have been increased -- by 38mm and 45mm respectively -- over the last-generation car, while a long, wide, single-frame panoramic sunroof allows high levels of natural light into the cabin. Luggage space in the trunk has been increased by 38mm in depth over the previous generation model, yielding a class-best luggage capacity of 534 litres with the front five seats upright. To improve comfort, the front seats are electronically powered and the driver's seat has a memory function to adapt to different drivers' preferred positions. The second row of seats slides. Optional- third-row seats An optional 220 Volt power socket can provide direct power to appliances including laptops, printers and vacuum cleaners. ENGINES Three powertrain options will be available to European buyers, including a new, super-efficient, Euro 6- compliant 2,0-litre 'R' VGT diesel engine. Producing 150 ps, 383 Nm, this powerplant emits just 159 g/km of CO2. The 2,2-litre diesel(on video) unit has been tuned for greater efficiency, making it the cleanest powertrain unit in the segment with CO2 emissions of only 147 g/km. This all-aluminium, powerplant generates 197 ps and 421 Nm of torque, with one of the lowest CO2 emissions in the segment. With this powerful engine, the new Santa Fe delivers strong performance, accelerating from 0 to 100 kph in 9,4 seconds (manual transmission, 2WD). The variable geometry turbocharger fitted to both diesel engines, New Generation Santa Fe offers 100% of torque from low revs -- from 1.800 to 2500 rpm. A 'Theta II' 2,4-litre GDI engine will offer European customers a gasoline alternative. Its maximum power of 192 ps and modest CO2 emissions of 202 g/km. TRANSMISSIONS New Generation Santa Fe is available with six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions. The 'Theta II' 2,4-litre GDI gasoline and 2,2-litre 'R' VGT diesel engine are available with either the manual or automatic transmission. The 2,0-litre 'R' VGT engine is fitted with the six-speed manual as standard. The automatic transmission features two operating modes -- fully automatic or 'Sport'. RUNNING GEAR Hyundai's FLEX STEER system is fitted to an SUV for the first time, providing three different settings for the steering to match customer preference and driving requirement. The selected mode -- normal, sport and comfort. The MacPherson strut front suspension uses reverse L-shaped lower arms for accurate camber control and steering sensitivity. The front subframe mounting bushes are calibrated to reduce unwanted vibrations, while preserving a confidence-inspiring connection with the road surface. Multi-link suspension is employed at the rear, with the trailing arm connected to a chassis cross-member to ensure optimum ride refinement without intruding on the trunk space. Self-leveling rear suspension is fitted as standard, preserving ride refinement and balanced handling even when carrying a full complement of passengers or a heavy cargo load. All-wheel-drive is delivered by an on-demand system which overrides the usual front-wheel-drive only when truly necessary. The default power distribution is 100% to the front wheels, with automatic and continuous variation in force when slippery conditions are encountered, providing up to 50% of power to the rear. For especially slippery conditions, such as muddy off-roading or driving on snow or ice, four-wheel-drive can be selected with the push of the 'lock' button, delivering a 50:50 power split at speeds up to 40 kph. Maximum towing capacity for a fully laden vehicle with a braked trailer is 2500 kg (manual transmission). SAFETY Active safety systems give Santa Fe drivers the best chance of avoiding an accident. These include ABS (anti-lock braking system), ESP (electronic stability programme), VSM (vehicle stability management), DBC (downhill brake control) and a hill-holder system. The headlights switch on automatically if conditions require them, and daytime running lights are fitted as standard. New Generation Santa Fe is fitted with seven airbags as standard, including driver, passenger, side, curtain and driver's knee units, providing exceptional levels of safety to buyers across the range.
