5 Best Selling Cars Of All Time!
So cars have undoubtedly changed the world and in my opinion are one of the best inventions of the modern era. There are hundreds of car manufactures in the world, however the industry is greatly dominated by a only a few big companies. So in this list ill be showing you the 5 best selling cars of all time. As always I'd like to give a big shout out to viewers Tristan Galloway & Andrei Radu for suggesting this video. ---------------------SECOND CHANNEL----------------------- Check out my second channel More5! for funny, weird, interesting news, along with the latest trending topics within the YouTube community. Despite it's relatively average sales in the U.S., Ford managed to shift 18 million escorts from 1968 to 2000. It's appeal was simple. There were plenty different engines to choose from, it was reliable, affordable and its looked good for its time. Sales were further increased when Ford introduced different variations to the escort, including a van version, although it wasn't nearly as popular. Although its been out of production for a good 16 years, it still managed to make the top 5. However the Honda Civic has almost caught up and will soon knock the escort off its number 5 spot. 4) Volkswagen Beetle The Beetle has been around since 1938, making it one of the oldest cars still in production today. It had a rather interesting birth, being commission by Adolf Hitler to become the peoples car. Ferdinand Porsche was the designer of the Beetle. You might recognize his last name because he was also the founder of the car company Porsche. In fact the iconic Porsche 911 design was modeled from a beetle and you can still see its influence on its design today. However despite its checkered history, the VW Beetle is an iconic car selling over 23.5 million units to date. While many hate the beetle, others love it. It had its engine in the rear, it was different yet affordable and reliable for its time. It also was the start for two huge car companies, VW and Porsche. 3) Volkswagen Golf The VW Golf is one of the most famous cars in the world. It showed the world that small cars can be practical, reliable, fun and sporty. Since its release in 1974, over 27.5 million units have been sold. There have been many generations of the Golf, all sporting a newer refreshed look, but VW have kept the recipe the same. They keep it looking compact but practical, and always produce a sporty version that can outrun some purpose built sports cars. This makes the Golf an all round winner, the type of car that you could take on the track but also do your weekly shop in. 2) Ford F-Series The Ford F-Series has topped the best selling cars list each month and shows no signs of slowing down. Although the F-Series is not sold in Europe, probably due to the small roads compared to its huge size, its been selling in the U.S. like crazy since 1948. Its the best selling vehicle in the U.S. since 1981. This leave us Europeans wondering what is it about the F-Series that Americans love. Well from what I could see is its range of high powered engines, rugged ability on different terrains, high equipment levels, very decent price, and its aggressive powerful looks. It is a car you would move out the way for on a highway, it certainly has road presence. And should you be involved in a crash, you'd much rather be inside the F-Series than something like a VW golf. All together the F-Series has sold an incredible 35 million units since its launch. 1) Toyota Corolla The best selling car of all time is the Toyota Corolla. It's been 50 years since it first came out, and since then Toyota has sold a whopping 40 million units worldwide. Its held the title as best selling car of all time since 1974 which is hugely impressive. So what makes the Corolla so special? To be honest I'm not 100% sure, its really just a mix of reasons. They are known to be very reliable. They are also usually very well equipped for their price, they're designed to look sensible but not too boring, and in general the whole car is built to sell in huge numbers. Toyota has played it very safe, they simply built a car that appealed to the mass population and priced it to be very competitive. There's no 1 reason for its huge success they just had a very good business plan.
