How to Fix Surface Rust on a Car
This Caravan has been repaired before and is starting to rust along the bottom edge of the door. It appears that someone has installed a door skin before and the didn't do the best job in the world. The rust along the bottom can be removed but nobody can guarantee the rest of the door won't do the same thing over time as nobody knows to what degree this door was butchered before.
To start you will want to use either a grinder or a paint stripping wheel to remove as much as possible. Once you are at your limit with the stripping wheel move on to your spot blaster to remove the rust not accessible with the grinder. A little bit of putty was applied to level out the area a tad however I think it was wobbly to begin with, the whole door bottoms are like this from the skin being incorrectly installed. This type of repair will get the guy down the road but without stripping the whole door who knows what will happen. We can not guarantee this kind of work but given the cost of redoing someone elses work it is not in the budget for this customer. Lesson learned, have it done right the first time.
1972 Charger Restoration
This is the first video of more to come. Slideshow + videos of me working towards a full restoration of a 1972 Dodge Charger. At the time of the upload the car is ready for the first coat of primer. The next video will have the car being painted, engine work and everything being put back on car.
There is a couple of short clips of the engine running before it was pulled as a bonus.
