Corowa Autofest 2010 - 1000hp Torana splits balancer on the dyno

This Torana is a pretty mean bit of gear, with a Vortech YSi hanging off the side of a 434cube small block chev. It was looking promising to spin up some huge numbers on the Dyno when the balancer split. Although there was some concern the crank might have snapped the snout off, it was later confirmed that it was just the balancer that broke.

Jake Edwards Torana - Summernats 21
On the Dyno at Summernats 21. Jakes Edwards is probably Australia's foremost authority on blow through carby set-ups. The engine is a 393cube Holden V8 and it runs a single Holset turbo.

SUBTLE Wins Pro Street Blown at the Street Machine Nationals
It may be SUBTLE by name but Jeremy Callaghan's twin turbo Torana is anything but subtle. Even though it's not the quickest car in the class the Torana swept all before it during the Chicago Shootout in Pro Street Blown at the Street Machine Nationals and then defeeated the Perko Torana in the finals. A solid win from a very cool looking car

High tech versus old school in the final of the six cylinder class at Corowa. We talk briefly to both owners before they head to the startline. With the EL XR6 Falcon boasting almost double the horsepower of the Torana, it should have been no contest but the result was closer than anyone could imagine.

Corowa Autofest 2010 - Blown VL burnout
Adam Mutimer's been punting this VL around for a few years but hasn't had much luck in regards to engines. His run of bad luck continued with the blown Holden engine throwing a couple rods (EDIT - turns out it didn't throw the rods, just a fuel issue) at Corowa, according to the announcers.
