Corowa Autofest 2010 - 1000hp Torana splits balancer on the dyno

This Torana is a pretty mean bit of gear, with a Vortech YSi hanging off the side of a 434cube small block chev. It was looking promising to spin up some huge numbers on the Dyno when the balancer split. Although there was some concern the crank might have snapped the snout off, it was later confirmed that it was just the balancer that broke.

Corowa Autofest 2010 - CRITTA burnout
Packing a blown big block Chev this isn't your average station wagon. I reckon Steve would have been right up there in the results, but who knows with burnout comps, it's always hard to pick.

BEST. POWERSKID. EVER.
I've seen some crazy powerskid action in my time but this Torana takes the cake. With a big hit of Nitrous and a heavy right foot this guy smokes the full length of the track in and aesome display of skill and power. If you've got a better powerskid then send me a video response.

Jake Edwards Torana - Summernats 21
On the Dyno at Summernats 21. Jakes Edwards is probably Australia's foremost authority on blow through carby set-ups. Here's his own personal car running over 1000hp at the tyres with a single carb and no Intercooler although it does run on mehtanol. The engine is a 393cube Holden V8 and it runs a single Holset turbo.

Corowa Autofest 2010 - Blown VL burnout
Adam Mutimer's been punting this VL around for a few years but hasn't had much luck in regards to engines. His run of bad luck continued with the blown Holden engine throwing a couple rods (EDIT - turns out it didn't throw the rods, just a fuel issue) at Corowa, according to the announcers.

Two Superchargers, No Waiting for smoke!!
I used to think this car was called 24TUFF for some reason, and with 2 blowers I guess that works as well, but it's actually T4TUFF and it is Tough with a capital T. Matt Power is the pilot of the flame throwing smoke monster, and even though it was a killer burnout Matt finished 13th overall, that's how tough the competition was.

Summernats 23 - Day 2 -Thursday
Summernats was strangely quiet today for a Thursday, but there's a whole bunch of killer cars around and more blowers than you can imagine. here's just a small portion of some of the cars going through scrutineering and some cruising. sorry, I didn't get to the judging hall today. Better update tomorrow.

Twin Turbo LS1-Powered HK Monaro on Dyno
Rodney Ritchie used to run a serious procharger blow-through set-up on his HG Monaro but he's ripped that out and fitted a 406ci LS1 with twin T04Z turbos. It doesn't run alot of Boost but it sure makes enough power. It won the Dyno at Winton's Performance Car Mania with 731rwhp. Rodney now plans to finish things off with an Intercooler and pump up the Boost for even more power, and possibly have a crack at Modified Street Blown in the APSA series.

Corowa Autofest 2010 - SKIDIT Torana on the dyno
Justin Robinson's Torana smoked the tyres all weekend at Corowa, but he also threw it on the Dyno to see what it was making at the tyres. As you can see, it's got plenty of grunt.

R.I.P. INOCNT Torana
Simon Kryger's INOCNT Torana has been a solid Pro Street performer at Sydney Dragway and other tracks for many years. Simon sold the car just after this last footage was shot and two weeks later the car was destroyed in a traffic accident when it was stuck from behind at high speed by another vehicle. Unfortunately the iconic Torana was destroyed, but the driver wasn't seriously injurred. Rest in Peace INOCNT. Torana Powerskids at Performance Car Mania 2010
There was a great variety of rides at Winton's Performance Car Mania but there's no denying a strong Torana presence at the event. Just check out how many were smoking it up in the powerskids! Perry Bullivant, with the dark green Torana and black bonnet, won the Powerskids after a stout effort on sunday.

Crazy Fast Torana's at Corowa Drags
The lastest dragfest at Corowa Airport saw the Torana's ruling the roost with almost half the field being of the Holden Torana variety. Here's a quick run down of the quickest toranas from the day. They are Perry Bullivant with the Green LX (Blown Chev Sml), Mick Brody with the Black LJ (NA Chev Sml) and White LX (Nos Chev Big), Justin Robinson (NA Chev sml) with the Orange LX, Matt "Russian" Filipenko with the Red LJ (No2 Chev sml) and Mick Smith with the Yellow LH (No2 Holden 308).

Summernats 23 - UCSMOKE Qualifying Burnout FIRE!
Steven Loader's UCSMOKE during it's qualifying run at Summernats 23. I don't think I could have been positioned any better to capture the action.

Corowa Autofest - RUSH supercharged Statesman on the dyno
Fresh from a full rebuild before Summernats this supercharged ls1 powered Holden Statesman produces around 485hp to the rear wheels. It also smokes the tyres later during the burnout comp but that's another video.

SMOKEU - Procharged Big Block Holden on Dyno
Block your ears folks because this blown big block will blow your ear drums out. There's a 540 cube big block under the bonnet and an F3R Procharger with a blow through carb set-up. Usually it make around 900hp at the tyres but they had trouble getting the power to the rollers at Performance Car Mania.

Crazy Camaro Burnout
I filmed this Camaro at Melbourne's Easternats a few years back. One of the most awesome burnouts I've ever seen. Turn the volume up for this one. And don't forget to rate it.
