This is a small video of a Dynotest with a Porsche 924 racecar, what is offered for rent to racedrivers who want to participate in endurance, circuit or rallye races. Due to its conformity to Appendix K, Appendix J and its street license, it may takes part in any historical race. It has an international Historical Technical Passport (HTP) according to Appendix K, 185 hp out of 2l displacement and weighs 984 kg. My demon start from 8th to 4th by the first corner. Unfortunately the clutch failed and eventually I couldn't get any gears coming out of the hairpin so had to retire.

Porsche 924S Drifting
This Porsche 924S cost £300 to buy. It was completely road legal and came with a valid MOT certificate. It was driven to the circuit. It was driven home afterwards. A full day on the Oulton Park rally circuit costs in the region of £100 for unlimited access (i.e. an unlimited number of laps). Even if you crash your car and it's unrepairable, £400 for a full track day is cheap (a track day in a Boxster or 996/997 will cost you that just in tyres!)
Is this the cheapest and most fun Porsche motor sport there is? We think it probably is!!!

The forgotten Porsche
This is a short featuring the 924. the 924 was original conceptualized for vw by porsche. vw wanted a car that could get them into the mid priced sports car field so they farmed out the design to Stuttgart Porsche. When economic hardships caused vw to lose faith in the project Porsche stepped in and bought the designs back for what some sources say was close to 60 million dollars. The cars unorthadox layout with its front engined rear trans design gave the 924 near perfect weight distribution and impeccable handling. The motor was a non interference example that was designed for the car but was slated for multiple uses. One being the vw lt van and the other the audi 100. when the automotive press got wind of the 924 sharing its motor with a van they had a field day and the porsche purists that were already up in arms about the front engine layout turned away from the 924.
Years later the 924 was rumored to possibly receive an inline 6 cyl from the audi lineup. It never came to fruition and the 924 was replaced in the US market with the 944. the 924 was still available as the 924s. this was a 924 with the interference 2.5 liter motor from the 944 and the held over 924 interior instead of the very sought after later dash from the 85.5 and later 944.
