My fellow workers here at MCN think the Victory Vegas 8-Ball that I've got on long-term-test is only good for slow cruising and showing off so I thought I'd prove them wrong by piling on some serious miles. We speed tested the road-going Kawasaki H2 just a few weeks ago and it kicked sand in the face of the Suzuki’s Hayabusa, smoking it to 180mph while becoming the fastest-accelerating bike we have ever tested at MCN. Normal production bikes are restricted to a manufacturers’ agreement of 300kph (186mph) but Kawasaki has thrown the rulebook in the bin with the H2R; they say there are no speed limits or restrictors. MCN News: Goodwood 2008
MCN Editor Marc potter got to ride with the racing legends at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last weekend and you can see the highlights of the event and catch a glimpse of the man himself riding the hill-climb in the video below. While the likes of Mick Doohan and Terry Rymer lined up on some stunningly preserved ex-factory race bikes, Potski was riding a BMW R51SS TT-racer from 1939 that hadn't been ridden in 40-years.
