Maier Racing Mustang: More grip than a GT3? - /BIG MUSCLE

If you've ever driven a bone-stock mid-1960's Ford Mustang, then you know that these
little cars make wonderful cruisers. They possess movie-star good looks and
turn heads everywhere. Drive them hard though and you'll soon realize that
what lies beneath that sheet metal is usually in need of some serious
improvement . Mike Maier of Maier Racing is the owner of this stunning blue
1966 coupe, a car that was supposed to have been bought as a play toy for
him and his wife. However when you grow up in a racing family, leaving
things alone is generally not an option. Little by little the Mustang evolved away from the family
hot-rod and into a test bed for new parts. More importantly than that
though, it's now one of the baddest street 'Stangs on the planet. Most
people will tell you that "Bigger is always better"... one drive in the
Maier Racing '66 coupe however may make you rethink that statement

My 67 Fastback Mustang
Again... This event was the first event with my new 3-link coil over rear
suspension that I designed. It worked extremely well and I expect it'll
get a tad better with a little more tuning. The front end now pushes real
bad - I'm assuming this is due to the spool in the rear end.
The spool worked quite well with the leaf spring suspension - but with the
rear tires in better contact with the ground the car wants to continue in a
straight line rather than turn in. The spool will be replaced before the
next event with a Half Tight DPI platinum LSD.
The miss shift between 6 and 7 was actually just an accidental shift into
neutral, so the 9k peak was just a free rev. The motor should be capable
of spinning near 10k with out trouble (not tested...) though it makes the
most power well before that.

Chick driving STRAIGHT PIPE 1967 MUSTANG 5.0 - amazing V8 SOUND!!
Jamboolio spots a gorgeous American muscle car classic, the 1967 Ford Mustang 5.0 Coupe. One may
argue that especially with the LOUD Exhaust sound coming from the straight pipes,
this is a very manly car, but to my surprise it was driven by a GIRL!

This 1967 Mustang Coupe is
painted a striking Dark Metallic Blue with a very nice finish. Interior is
all black. Body is very straight and underside looks excellent with very
clean rust free floorpans and underbody. This car has a plethora of go fast
goodies. The Ford small block engine is rebuilt (13,000 miles ago) with a
CHP 306 Street Fighter stroker kit. It has Edelbrock aluminum heads (EDL
6025) with 202/160 valves. An Edelbrock Cam (EDL 7122) 496/520 lift, and an
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold (EDL 7121). All this is topped of
with a Demon 4bbl double squirter 650 cfm carburator. The dual Exhaust starts with full length headers
(Hedman), and finishes with Dynomax Race magnum mufflers to
give the engine a nice rumble. The transmission is a rebuilt C4 custom
transmission by Brandon Transmission in Florida, it has a nice shift kit,
operated via a Hurst V-Matic2 shifter, and a TCI torque converter with a
2800 rpm stall speed. Rear end is a Ford 9" with posi-traction and a 3.50
gear ratio. Ignition has been converted over to a DUI distributor from the
original points distributor.
This Mustang has a front
disc brake conversion with 4 piston calipers from Stainless Steel Brakes
Corporation. It is a factory A/C car with a hi performance aluminum rotary
compressor, and 4 core radiator, and a 6 blade flex fan. Tires on the car
look fairly new but have some curb rash on the white letters. Suspension
components were all replaced recently at Mid-cities Mustang. All mechanical systems on
the car appear to be in good or excellent condition.
