Fixing A Slipping Clutch
Scotty Kilmer, mechanic for the last 46 years, shows how to replace a slipping clutch on your vehicle. Although a big job, anyone with normal hand tools, a jack, and two jack stands can do the job. Since most mechanics charge over a thousand dollars for such a job, it's certainly worth a try to do it yourself. And, If you like my car help, be sure to watch my live car talk show every Saturday morning at 10 AM CST on YouTube. I answer your car questions LIVE there. Trans & Clutch 1 - Remove Transmission
This is the first in a multi-video series regarding clutch tech. The clutch itself is a simple mechanism, but it's buried deep in the engine, so you can't just cover the clutch. First, you have to cover how to remove the transmission to get to it. This project started off strange, got kind-of not-good, and then took a turn for the worst. The typical clutch job is not as difficult as the next video will display, but it's good this happened to me because I film this kind of crap. If for some asinine reason you encounter the kind of failure I experienced, you'll know what to do after the next video. Clutch assembly will be covered in a third video. About the car: You saw the other assembly video. You know when I put this thing together. You know it doesn't come out to play when it's cloudy. I've had it on the road less than an earl change. Freshly rebuilt TRE Stage 2.5 trans with a brand new ACT 2600 and a sprung 6-puck (MB1-XTG6) on a stock flywheel. This is Transmission #4.

430+ hp turbo d16 honda civic dyno
Finally got all the bugs worked out.Made some changes since the clutch slip (muffler,Exhaust housing/bosch injectors) and went in for a retune. The first full power pull made 423 whp. I didn't get a vid of the 430+ pull because I have 5 Dyno vids already . Final exact numbers were 433 whp and 353 ft-lbs of wheel tq on 28 .We stopped since the car is on stock sleeves and I'm on a garrett 57 trim so I would have maxed out at maybe 450-465 on 30-32 psi anyways Not me in the video but one of my good friends who did some of my ecu soldering work.We had a side bet on hp numbers and my gf won after all. Track videos to come next spring since the season here is over.I may get some street ripper vids up soon.

G35 Clutch slipping at 19000 miles???
My clutch at 19000 miles after a day at the track... OEM. Turns out it was slipping and I got a JWT clutch, never looked back. I now have 58k on the car and it is driving great! The first owner was old, and probably slipped the clutch a ton.
