Spedeworth Banger Racing - The Early Years - Photos & Cine Film
Managed to save the cine film to Video before all the equipment was dissposed of a few years ago. Then I realised this was really just the start off point for Spedeworth Banger racing on a regular format so put together this explanation. Sorry for any quality loss but it has been converted from cine to video then to DVD and then onto youtube and of course its 40 years old in most cases. Like to think its worth saving as archive material at least. I took all the photos & cine film except for some my dad took as I was out there driving as # 562 (1974, 75 & 76 ) Apologies to any Spedeworth fans who dont like Bangers. Sadly whilst compiling this I heard the news that Les Eaton had died in January. Without him there would be no Spedeworth, but thats another story altogether.

I do not claim any ownership over the copyrights to this video. It was recorded off the TV around 1995 and I have not seen it anywhere since, so I thought I would share it with the world. This video has not been monetized and therefore I am not earning revenue from it. Original videos (car reviews and auto show coverage) on new channel. More videos coming, including older vehicles. Canandaigua - 4:01 (1954 Big Cars and 1955 Stock Cars) AMAZING quality film here. 2.) Evans Mills - 4:59 (1967 dirt and 1968 asphalt - 1st 2 years of operation) 3.) Fulton - 6:03 (Various clips throughout the 60's and early 70's) 4.) Lafayette - 5:24 (1951 black and white and 1952 color) 5.) Lancaster - 1:13 (About 1969 or 1970 - Sadly, a good portion was too dark to use) 6.) *Lebanon Valley - 2:54 (Approx 1970 - 1971. Again, a portion of the film was too dark to use) 7.) Monroe County Oval - 6:05 (Mid to late 50's and early to mid 60's) 8.) Naples - 1:07 (1953 - the last year the track ran. This is the only film footage of Naples I know of. Excellent quality and in color) 9.) Oswego - 5:05 (50's, 60's and real early 70's) 10.) Palmyra - 8:13 (1952 and 1953 covering Sportsman and midgets) 11.) *Paradise - 1:30 (Very early 70's bikes in excellent quality film. Neat stuff here) 12.) South Seneca - 8:52 (There maybe be footage in here from every year the track ran) 16.) Spencer - 5:00 (1956 to about 1962. You'll love what I did with this because I had tons of footage to work with) 17.) *Syracuse - 3:51 (1950's, 1960's and 1970's. Includes the Wimble fire and USAC footage) 18.) *Utica Rome - 3:29 (1962 footage includes Richie Evans in his first car. Second year of operation for the track) 19.) Waterloo - 4:04 (Includes footage from the 50's, 60's and 70's. I like this piece because I had a bunch to work with) 20.) Watertown - 4:14 (1950's and 1960's footage from different angles of the track. Several wrecks in this) 21.) Weedsport - 4:04 (My favorite part of the whole DVD. All 1950's footage that kind of tells a story that I couldn't resist)
