2015 Subaru WRX STI: The Daily Driver Rally Car Returns! - Ignition Ep. 107
On this episode of Ignition, Carlos Lago tests the latest generation of the perennial rally car favorite: The 2015 Subaru WRX STI. Much like the new WRX, this STI has an entirely new and significantly stiffer body structure, but unlike the WRX, it still uses the same 305 horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-four that's powered the car since 2008. Our introduction to the car occurs at the press launch at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. From there, we test the STI to see the performance improvements and drive it on one of our favorite mountain roads. How does the new STI stack up? Stay tuned to find out. Ignition appears every other Monday on the Motor Trend youtube channel. http://www.youtube.com/motortrend Subscribe now to make sure you're in on all the action! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsAegdhiYLEoaFGuJFVrqFQ?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook - http://facebook.com/motortrendmag & https://www.facebook.com/mt.ignition Twitter - http://twitter.com/motortrend & https://twitter.com/mt_ignition Google+ - https://plus.google.com/+motortrend/posts Instagram - @mt_ignition Website - http://www.motortrend.com

2015 Subaru WRX vs 2014 Ford Focus ST! Head 2 Head Ep. 50
On this episode of Head 2 Head, Jonny Lieberman gets his hands on the all-new, 2015 Subaru WRX, as well as one of Motor Trend's favorite pocket rockets, the Ford Focus ST. Each car costs about $30,000, sports a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with similar power outputs, and features a 6-speed manual transmission. The Subaru of course features a sporty version of the brand's "symmetrical AWD" while the Focus makes due with just the front wheels driven. However, since it first appeared, the Focus ST has wowed the Motor Trend staff with ability to dance around corners and, generally, not drive and feel like a front-wheel driver. We like the Focus ST so much that we invited it to last year's Best Driver's Car. But does the Ford have what it takes to beat the latest street-tamed rally baby from Subaru? You're going to have to watch and find out. Head 2 Head appears every other Wednesday on the Motor Trend channel. http://www.youtube.com/motortrend Subscribe now to make sure you're in on all the action! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=motortrend Facebook - http://facebook.com/motortrendmag Twitter - http://twitter.com/motortrend Google+ - https://plus.google.com/1018679678590... DRIVEN 2014 #4: Mercedes A 45 AMG vs VW Golf R vs Subaru WRX STI
We've summoned the cool, sophisticated Volkswagen Golf R and the stark raving mad Mercedes A 45 AMG - as well as the new Subaru WRX STI and bring a combined total of nearly 1,000 hp to Bukit Tinggi to see what's what.

08 STI vs 09 WRX
Another old video that I just found. A quick comparison of my wife's stock 09 WRX versus my 08 STI when it was running Cobb's Stage 2 91 map, with 94 octane in the tank. Runs were done on the same day, same temps, same sections of road. The 09 WRX is very impressive. If you watch the video closely you can see how the stage 2 map on my STI has abrupt pauses in acceleration with each gear change, whereas the WRX pulls smoothly. My car was definitely faster but the gear changes sort of evened things out. There is something in the stage 2 91 OTS tune that causes this - not sure if it is ignition overrun or what but my more recent tunes have smoothed this out.

APT 11's 2008 STi
2008 Sti from PR. Nothing major (bolt-ons) driven by Peter Mathews (La Murga). Congrats to Peter and APT. http://www.grs-motorsports.com

Sti 0-60 in 3.8 seconds on stock turbo
This video was taken after my protune wheel hp 295 and 309 lbs torque : ) I actually accelerate to about 75mph before letting off the gas ! I also launched at only 3500rpm.

Which car is faster? Which Car is Faster?
