Straight Pipe Camaro 3.1L - No Muffler
Straight Pipe Camaro
3.1L - No Muffler I just had the muffler cut off and a new y pipe installed
with new pipes to the back deleting the muffler. Otherwise than that it is
an all original 1992 Camaro with the 3.1 liter V6 and
1991 Camaro 3.1 Liter v6 no start. Please help!
I've replaced the things stated in the video, and also the air filter and
fuel filter. There is spark, and there is fuel getting to the injectors. I
don't know where to turn to besides taking at apart to get at the timing
chain and stuff to make sure the timing marks are lined up. That's my last
resort if I have to go that far. Also, the check engine light stays on when
the key is on, but there weren't any codes the last time I checked. Any
help would be much appreciated. Thank you youtubers! Update!!! I just
replaced the pick up assembly in the distributor.

3rd Gen Camaro Build
A (lotta) work in progress. I started this project to swap a 191cubic inch
V6 to a 350 V8 (along with performance parts, and swapping & upgrading the
transmission) in 2009. (see modifications list below.) These are pictures
and videos as I progressed and the very first engine start and test drive.
I applied primer to protect the metal as I knew I would have to put the
project on hold, which is where it has been since. Plan to start again by
gutting & redoing the interior here in 2012.

Camaro SS vs Turbo Civic

This video was shot early on in 2008. Yes, he's a friend of mine. The
acting (if you can call it that) is us just messing around before battery
on the camera died. It was all done on the spot - no script - and the
racing was both cars going all out 100%. The Camaro has been 11.5's@122. Not
the fastest car on the road (by far), but enough to hold it's own with most
For those in complete & utter denial - doubting that the Civic was actually
turbo'd - here is the same car with a
duck call attached to the blow-off valve as a joke:
3rd Gen Camaro - Fox-Body Mustang (the good, bad and the ugly)
Most car guys don't know the difference between the 230hp G92 optioned
models, or the 5-speed and automatic models, or the 170hp lackluster TBI
versions (not to be confused with TPI versions)... Mustang guys smoke the 170hp TBI
models, as well as the "run of the mill" TPI automatic models, and believe
they can do this to any and all. Well, not all 3rd Gen F-bodies are created
equal. Optioned from the factory with the 230hp TPI (not TBI) engine,
manual 5-speed tranny and 3.42 gears, these 3rd Gen F-body sleepers gave
5.0 Mustangs absolute hell.
In 1990 the G92 option code became a full performance package rather than
simply a rear axle option as in previous model years... GM also offered an
answer to the Saleen Mustangs by way of option 1LE, which
consisted of the G92 optioned without A/C and other creature comforts, and
the addition of Corvette brakes and other road racing equipment.
About the only way an IROC-Z Camaro could take out a 5.0L Mustang from this era was with
the Tuned Port Induction and addition of these performance options: G92,
1LE, L98 or B4C.
The TBI powered Camaro
were not at all in the same league as the performance version TPI Camaro, or 5.0 Mustang, these 170hp TBI models were
GM's economy de-tuned versions and were around 50-60 less horsepower versus the
performance optioned TPI models. These non-performing models gave the 3rd
Gen F-bodies a bad rep on the street... many think that these were the
example of 3rd Gen F-bodies, when in fact, and unlike Ford, GM offered many
models, with many engines, camshafts and rear-gear ratios...
