The track has been modified (the first chicane has been "cutted") for the occasion in order to allow Audi to test their car driving at high speeds for the upcoming 24 hours of Le Mans. If I've done correctly the calculations the R18 was going at about 330 km/h when there are the signs that indicate the braking point before the first chicane so I think it's quite possible to reach 340 km/h before the long turn. Audi R18 e-Tron Quattro 300km/h+ Fly Bys on Track!
I have filmed the incredible Audi R18 e-Tron Hybrid Quattro LMP1 during a private test day at Monza circuit. This will be the next Audi which will participate at the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP1 category (Le Mans Prototype 1). It's powered by a turbocharged V6 DOHC TDI engine which is able to produce 510HP and over 850NM of torque, but thanks to its light weight and aerodynamics, can easily reach a top speed of over 340km/h. ►"Like" my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/NM2255 ►Subscribe to my second car channel: http://www.youtube.com/nickcarvideos ►Follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/NM2255 ►Follow me on Google+: http://plus.google.com/u/0/b/110472455538727993481

Audi R18 e-tron quattro - "The evolution of racing"
A new era of racing at Le Mans is upon us and Audi is leading the field once again through new technology in the form of the Audi R18 e-tron quattro. Audi has won races around the world utilizing groundbreaking technologies such as quattro, turbocharged direct injection (TFSI) and turbo diesel (TDI) engines. Each of these found their way into very successful production vehicles such as the original quattro, the iconic Audi R8 and everything from an A3 to an Q7 TDI. Now it is time for a new era of racing technology through the R18 e-tron quattro which uses brake regeneration to power the front wheels while the V6 TDI engine powers the rear. Watch the Audi Sport team explain the philosophy of developing technologies for the track that then find their way to the streets in this video.
