Norman Dewis, test driver for Jaguar Motorcars from 1952 to 1984, discusses
the Jaguar XKSS at the Carmel Mission in Carmel California during the 2010
Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Sixteen of the legendary vehicles, including the one once owned by Steve
McQueen, made it to this Concours. It is said that never before had these
hand built vehicles been assembled in one place.
75 Years of Jaguar History
To mark the 75th anniversary of the Jaguar brand, a group of 75
individually-numbered, iconic Jaguars from across the years made a two-day
journey from Coventry to Goodwood. Most cars were privately-owned examples,
driven by their owners, joined by some of the most famous cars from
Jaguar's own heritage collection, including the E-Type, C-Type, pre-war SS
Jaguar saloons and a selection of its latest models.

In 1971 Norman Dewis was driving the Jaguar XJ-13 around the MIRA test rack
at 140 mph when it lost a wheel. Fortunately both car and driver survived.
