Built 28r Mazdaspeed 6 GTX3076 Install! (Plus EGR Fix and Test Drive)
Intro Music: Blast Off - Startin' 5 (old band I used to be a part of :-) Pretty self explanatory, moving over from the 28r to some GTX good lovin'. Couple things I wanna get out the way first. I am NOT getting rid of the 28r because of technical problems or a failure. turbo still ran fine from the day I installed it, until the time it came out of the bay, and I'm certain in the next bay it ends up in it will continue to do the same. I'm only upgrading because the 28r simply can't keep up with the potential of this build. Motor is going to be re ringed likely early next month, and once it is 100%, it should be able to handle around 650 hp. As much as I love the 28r, it simply will never see anything close to that. With that said, this is still a PHENOMENAL starter (or final) big turbo, muther fuck what these jackasses that say that it's not, or call it a medium turbo. Still damn near doubles a k04. It easily outshined plenty of guys that were bigger, on 3071s, fp greens, Nitrous, etc. Even before the build or meth, it was damn close to touching 400 awhp, which needless to say is probably in the 410+ range on an ms3. That's healthy any way you look at it. With that said, I'm going to be limited to around 450 awhp max for the time being, due to the 3" straw I'm using for an intake. Just not enough flow. Once I upgrade to a 3.5 or 4, 500 awhp will be in reach with e85 and meth. Besides the EGR hiccup, and now an issue with my thermostat, turbo's been flawless thus far. Drives just the same as the 28r, only difference is there's a hell of a lot more up top, and it has surprising torque. Very rarely do I have to downshift from 6th cruising. I'm aiming to do this quickly while it's still cold, vs dragging things out to spring, so Dyno will damn near immediately be followed by the Dyno session, hopefully before the end of Feb. Then we'll be looking to prepping for track season, and possibly bypassing the 12s and heading straight to the 11s. Either way, there's a shit ton in store, and this is just the beginning. Shit just got real bro. hahahaha! Watch in HD!!!!
