Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! YouTube's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we will take an up close and personal in depth look at my 1965 Ford Fairlane 500 289. This particular model is known as the 2 door sedan due to the tall roofline and b-pillar, also known as a post car. I purchased this car in February 2011 with the dream of being able to fix up a car, restore it, and bring back to the original factory look. I'm a huge fan of classic cars and always have been. My grandfather "papa" instilled this in me a long time ago, as did my dad when he restored papa's '48 ford 2 door sedan back when I was little. This car is about 90% original and numbers matching with the original 289 cubic inch V8 (4.7L) and the original 3 speed manual on the column. It has an custom dual Exhaust (not sure what kind as it was already on the car when I bought it), not to mention original wheels, chrome, door panels, headliner, etc. I bought many items for this car because I wanted to "option it out" since it was a more "basic" fairlane 500. I will explain EVERY LITTLE detail about the car that you were curious about and probably more than you cared to know hahaha. I basically wanted to make this car look as it did from rolling out of the showroom, I collected original keys, documentation, brochures, an owner's manual and much more! 1962 Ford Thunderbolt style Fairlane 500 390 FE GT500 heads Dual Carbs Four Speed
This 1962 Ford Fairlane, done with the Thunderbolt style, offers a 390 CID V8 engine backed by a four-speed manual transmission. The engine has only 1200 miles since it was rebuilt and is equipped with sealed power pistons, reconditioned rods, polished crank, GT500 iron heads, Ford factory dual quad intake and carburetors, Competition Cams hydraulic camshaft and timing set, and Pentronix ignition. It's equipped with a fiberglass teardrop style hood, fiberglass fenders, and fiberglass bumpers. The interior has been restored and is in great shape. Here is a little information on what the car offers: fiberglass fenders, fiberglass bumpers. It's also equipped with Crites headers, 3" Exhaust, aluminum radiator, a vintage Hurst shifter, and a Thunderbolt traction bar setup.
