Audi is introducing a whole new dimension to the compact class this summer. It is dynamic and high quality, emotional and individual. It condenses all of the virtues of the brand down to less than four meters a design full of character, uncompromising quality and pioneering efficiency technologies. The agile chassis and powerful engines make the A1 the sportiest car in the segment.
2011 Audi A7 Sportback
Emotion-packed design, sporty character and innovative technology: Audi is targeting a new market segment with the A7 Sportback. The large five-door model with the dynamically accentuated rear end brings together the best of three worlds: the sporty elegance of a coupe, the comfort of a sedan and the practicality of a station wagon.
The A7 Sportback is pure high-tech. Its body is very lightweight thanks to numerous aluminum components. The elegant interior shows a craftsman's level of workmanship. The four V6 engines combine refined power with groundbreaking efficiency. The 3.0 TDI with 150 kW (204 hp) and multitronic has CO2 emissions of just 139 grams per kilometer (223.70 g/mile). The sporty chassis comes with new solutions, such as electromechanical power steering. When it comes to assistance and infotainment systems, the luxury-class coupe exhibits all of the innovative power expected of Audi.
The five-door coupe from Audi combines supreme, long-distance comfort with a sporty character. The interior noise level is very low even at fast highway speeds, with the V6 engines providing refined acoustic feedback as their power unfolds.

Audi Quattro Concept official promo - narrated
More confirmation that Audi will be taking the Quattro model to production has surfaced recently.
According to a recent report the Quattro Concept was spotted with design-studio license plates on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. The car was being escorted to a photo shoot by the California Highway Patrol.

Audi A1 Streetart
A new name, a new segment, a new car. Is there a more fascinating challenge for a car designer? Bold and surprising design was what the Audi team was aiming for in 2007 when it designed the A1 project quattro for the Tokyo Motor Show and again in 2008 for the A1 Sportback concept for the Paris Auto Show. Both studies are emotion-packed visions for a new, young target group and the particular requirements of city driving, and have been systematically refined ever since. The future is almost here: The countdown to the A1 is on.

The A1 is a small car with Audi qualities and the Audi badge, so it can't fail. All the engines are good, and quality is up to the usual Audi standards.
However, as you progress up the trim hierarchy, you get firmer suspension, bigger wheels and a firmer ride. List prices aren't exactly cheap, either.

Audi A1 e-tron footage
Audi is making it quite a news day for itself.
This time the premium brand is releasing this promotional video for the Audi A1 e-tron - a nearly all-electric variant of its compact hatch.
The A1 e-tron comes with an electric motor producing 75 kW (102 PS) of power (45 kW / 61 PS continuous) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque (150 Nm / 111 lb-ft continuous) juiced by a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The range on the A1 e-tron solely in electric mode is 50 km (31 miles). A range-extending engine helps improve that number to 250 km (155 miles).
That range-extender is a 15 kW single-piston rotary engine used to charge the batteries as the car is running.
The emissions and fuel-economy numbers look good but they're not zero given the range-extender. Consumption on the European cycle is 1.9 liters/100 km and CO2 emissions are very low 45 g/km.
Top speed is 130 km/h and the 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 10.2 seconds.
The video shows the A1 e-tron quietly cruising around town.
No details on production or launch dates have been released.
