A HUGE PONTIAC ON A 126 INCH WHEELBASE OFFERED 3 GRAND VILLE BODY STYLES
THIS YEAR AND A FIRST WITH A CONVERTIBLE. THESE HEAVY CARS WERE POWERED
WITH A 455 CID V-8 ENGINE THAT PRODUCED 185 HORSES. PERFORMANCE WAS STILL
THE NAME OF THE GAME WITH ALL PONTIAC MODELS. GRAND VILLE'S ALSO OFFERED A
220 HORSE AS AN OPTION. IMPACT ABSORBING BUMPERS WERE STANDARD
ANTICIPATING FEDERAL MANDATED SAFETY REGULATIONS. GRAND VILLE MODELS COULD
BE ORDERED WITH CLOTH / VINYL OR FULL VINYL INTERIORS AND AN ARRAY OF
OPTIONS THAT MOST BUYERS TOOK ADVANTAGE OF. THIS PONTIAC CONVERTIBLE IS A
BEAUTIFUL MACHINE IN ORGINAL CONDITION. THE DARK GREEN METALLIC PAINT IS
ACCENTED WITH GOLD PINSTRIPE AND SADDLE TAN VINYL INTERIOR. THE GRILLE IS
BONNEVILLE SIMLIAR AND HAD NEW SLOTTED TAILIGHTS. THIS IS TRULY A LARGE
VEHICLE WITH ABUNDANT SHEET METAL AND DESIGN PIZZAZ. ( I ALMOST BOUGHT A
PONTIAC GRAND VILLE RAGTOP MYSELF IN 1974 ). A WONDERFUL ORIGINAL

PONTIAC - "The Super Duty Story" Part 1 of 3
Pontiac had an SD engine program in the late 50s early 60s, and
later/briefly again in 1973/74 with the SD455. This video is regarding the
FIRST Super Duty program.---In only a few years time during the late 50s
early 60s, Pontiac MORE THAN DOUBLED their V8's horsepower output (described
in this video), while using/keeping the same V8 engine block they used thru
1955-81. Even though the same block was kept, from 1955-62 the cubic inch
displacement grew much larger than the initial 287 cuber it started as in
1955. It grew to a 317 347 370 389 and finally a 421 cuber in 1962. It
eventually maxed out at 455 cubes in 1970. By 1970 ALL the other GM
divisions were producing engines at 454 or 455 cubes (500 for Cadillac).
PONTIAC WAS THE ONLY DIVISION still using the same block they used in the
1950s on engines that had a much smaller displacement -- 287 cubes. The
1955 287 displacement would remain the smallest displacement ever used in
the Pontiac V8 block all the way until 1980/81 when a 265V8 was produced.
Since less durability was required for the smaller displacement, the block
was decked/butchered/lightened on the 265/301v8s of 1980/81. Prior to 1980
the block had never been decked/butchered/lightened. The 1980/81 265/301v8
blocks were about 200 pounds lighter than the 1955-79 blocks, and only 25
pounds heavier than a Buick 231V6.

Catalina Safari started off life as a Police Wagon, but was transformed by
its owner into the kick-ass, tire-shredding monster you see here. With a
Nelson Racing Engines 468 cid big-block under the hood, some updated
suspension bits and a killer look, this big green machine is
outside-the-box styling at its best.

THIS IS A MATCHING #S 1958 PONTIAC (FUEL INJECTED) BONNEVILLE ULTRA RARE (I
HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE IN MY WHOLE LIFE)!!!. I was VERY LUCKY to ride in a
friends 1957 Pontiac Bonneville Fuel Injected Convertible more than a few
times, BUT!!!!! Here is THE RARE OF THE VERY RARE!!!! A 1958 PONTIAC
BONNEVILLE FACTORY FUEL INJECTED 2 door hardtop for your consideration!!! I
HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE IN OVER 40 years of being in the old car hobby, NEVER!!
I have seen a few 58 TRI POWER BONNEVILLE'S, BUT NEVER a 58 FUEL INJECTED
CAR!!! There were just (630), 1957 Pontiac FUEL INJECTED cars built, and
all were Bonneville convertibles. When 1958 came along there were only
(400) FUEL INJECTED BONNEVILLE CARS BUILT (TOTAL) BETWEEN CONVERTIBLES AND
HARDTOPS!!! So this 58 FI Bonneville is NO DOUBT ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL
GENERAL MOTORS CARS EVER TO BE PRODUCED!!! AND SHE IS A BEAUTY AND WITH NO
RUST EVER, AND I MEAN NO RUST EVER!!!! She has had one repaint (THE PAINT
IS DROP DEAD GORGEOUS)!! !! (SHE IS AS STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW) and still
sports her ORIGINAL INTERIOR, NOT A REDONE INTERIOR, ITS ORIGINAL
INTERIOR!! The chrome and stainless on this magnificent car is really
SPECTACULAR!! She has Power Steering and Power Brakes for ease of driving
and she has all 4 of her perfect original hubcaps!! The 370 Cu In Pontiac
FI motor is backed up to its original 4 spd. HYDRA MATIC transmission! She
is missing (NOTHING AT ALL) from all of the correct original FUEL INJECTION
PARTS to her correct Exhaust tips!!!
She lacks nothing accept a new home in some ones very special collection,
or at home in your garage!! Or perhaps for a SPECIAL NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN
IN A CAR THAT (ONLY YOU) WILL HAVE AT ANY CAR SHOW YOU CHOOSE TO PULL

Pontiac Banshee A Longer Look
The Banshee was a vision for what the Firebird could become. Of course,
this concept car could never be built exactly, too low on the road and it
wouldn't pass the safety and crash tests, but it was exciting. It
demonstrated that the problem with GM cars didn't sit on the designers'
shoulders. They were more than capable of dreaming up engaging and fun
vehicles that would set imaginations on fire.
