http://www.ClassicCarBuyingSecrets.com Click now for an instant download on "How to Avoid the 7 Deadliest Mistakes of Buying a Classic Car Online"! 1969 Plymouth Road Runner History The Plymouth Road Runner was a performance car built by the Plymouth division of the Chrysler Corporation in the United States between 1968 and 1980. In 1968, the first muscle cars were moving away from their roots as relatively cheap, fast cars as they gained options. Although Plymouth already had a performance car in the GTX, designers decided to go back to the drawing board and reincarnate the original muscle car concept. Plymouth wanted a car able to run 14-second times in the quarter mile and sell for less than US$3000. Both goals were met, and the low-cost muscle car hit the street. The 1969 model made some slight changes such as tail lights and grille, side marker lights, optional bucket seats, and new Road Runner decals. All were 383 engine cars, except for ten 426ci Hemi convertible cars. An Air Grabber option (N96 code) was introduced this year. The Plymouth Road Runner was named Motor Trend "Car of the Year" for 1969. VIN This car was previously owned by a retired Chrysler employee. He spent 31 years at Chrysler building "show cars". This car was frame on restored, assembled and painted by the same team that handled Chryslers show cars. This is a one of a Road Runner that does not come along very often. It's ready to be driven anywhere, and fast! Muscle Car Of The Week Video #2: 1969 Plymouth Road Runner A12
http://www.musclecaroftheweek.com - This week, we have a special car for Mopar fans from the Brothers Collection. This is the very first 1969 Plymouth Road Runner A12 446 Pack ever built! This was the pilot car used by Chrysler to promote the A 12 Roadrunner package, and it has been called the "Wayward Beeper". Its significant history is bolstered by an appearance in Super Stock Magazine, where it was tested and tuned by legendary speed-shifter Ronnie Sox. This car features the 390 hp 440 V8 with 3 2 barrel carburetors, and A833 four-speed transmission, 4.10:1 rear gears, and a stripped-down interior. This very car has gone 12.91 seconds in the quarter mile, leading Chrysler to call it the fastest A12 ever built! You can guess next week's muscle car over the week on our Facebook page link.
