1969 Chevelle Twin-Turbo 540 Big-Block V8
This is, without a doubt, one of the most wicked Chevelle's you will ever come across. This pro touring beast is powered by an all-aluminum 540 Big-block Chevy, with twin 76 mm turbos and a Nelson Racing billet intake with 16 injectors. It's riding on a Roadster Shop chassis, with Detroit Speed suspension components, front and rear. The car was fabricated and assembled by Mike Gamble, of Gamble's Street Rods. John's Auto Body did all the custom body work and sprayed the 2010 Dodge Viper Graphite paint. Tracy, from the Recovery Room, completed the full custom interior. The car also has an ISIS wiring system and MiMod touch screen, which allows control of most vehicle functions. The car is currently being sold at Gateway Classic Cars in O'Fallon, IL. The product of a fresh, $200K restoration that transformed a sun-seeking Malibu into a shadow-dwelling Super Sport, this slick Chevy hardtop features a seamless and sinister appearance that's highlighted by an immaculate coat of jet-black paint. Twisting stout 11.4 to 1 compression into 628 Dyno-proven horsepower and a massive 585 lb./ft. of torque, this coupe's high performance, Mast Motorsports LSX 454 is a technological testament to the old rule: more cubic inches equals more horsepower! Based on GM's stalwart iron block small block, Mast's brutal mill utilizes forged Callies internals, Mahle pistons, ARP fasteners and a custom Mast Motorsports cam to flat out whip pretty much anything with four wheels. A perfect amount of air and fuel is supplied by a mandatory GM throttle body that's cinched to a big, reusable filter element. That air and fuel mixes in a proven Vortec intake and progresses to familiar LS3 cylinder heads that are built with Manley pushrods and LS3 hydraulic roller lifters. Immediately following combustion, spent gases roar through 3-inch, mandrel-bent pipes via black, Jet-Hot coated Stainless Works headers. That killer small block sprints to its 6,800 RPM redline thanks to a fresh Tremec Magnum 6-speed that's built to handle 700 lb./ft. of torque.
