The Veloster turbo was unveiled at the 2012 North American International Auto Show. In January 2012, Turn 10 Studios announced on the official Forza Motorsport 4 website that the 2013 Hyundai Veloster turbo as well as Rhys Millen's Veloster Rally Car are available as a free downloadable content. Hyundai partnered with the Rhys Millen Red Bull Rallycross team in the 2011 U.S. Rallycross Championship. During the six planned races in 2011, the on-site activations focused on the performance tuned production vehicles, Genesis Coupe and Veloster, and local brand managers gave attendees tours of the cars and collecting attendee data via surveys on buyer interest and brand consideration. Volkswagen Beetle 2011 Super Bowl XLV television commercial
Volkswagen will run two new ads during the Super Bowl Sunday broadcast on American television. Volkswagen of America will pay dearly to air two 30-second spots - one for the all-new North American Passat model and one for the 2012 Beetle - which will run during the second and fourth quarters of the game. The Passat commercial features a Star Wars theme and was produced with the help of Lucasfilm Ltd., George Lucas' production company. The visuals are accompanied by the well-known "Imperial March" music by film composer John Williams. The ad shows a child dressed as Darth Vader summoning the "Force" upon discovering a Passat in the driveway. The other spot for the all-new 2012 VW Beetle features a CGI-generated black beetle who reigns supreme in the forest. The soundtrack includes a new rendition of the famed rock song "Black Betty" by Jon Spencer and the Blues Explosion. The ads are the work of Volkswagen of America's agency Deutsch L.A. Inc. The Super Bowl takes place on Sunday February 6th.

A promotional video shows six sedans piloted by different drivers, including famous stuntman Buddy Joe Hooker, as they travel around Hyundai's Mojave Desert test track. After engaging the adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and lane-holding systems, five of the drivers crawl out of the sunroof and leap onto a truck. Hooker stays in the lead car, blindfolded and with arms folded, as the truck proceeds to the front of the mostly-driverless pack and hits its brakes to initiate a chain reaction of automatic braking. Despite the video's clear marketing focus for the redesigned Genesis, it serves as a demonstration of automatic control systems available as optional equipment in a wide range of vehicles from various companies. Notably, Hyundai merely needed to disable the lane-holding timer, which cuts the steering assist after 15 seconds, to show that the production car is capable of driving itself uninterrupted on a highway. Google envisions a driverless car that eliminates a steering wheel and pedals, completely removing the driver from the car experience. Established automakers appear to be focusing on a future where drivers will seamlessly transition between physically controlling the vehicle and sitting back for the ride. For now, technology that supports the latter scenario is restrained to prevent over-reliance.
