Tuning the Turbo GMC Jimmy!
A few weeks back I visited my good friend Gary Hart to attend the Street
Rod Nationals in Springfield, MO. I took random videos of us at the event,
and driving/tuning Gary's super cool 1950 GMC truck - with a turbocharged, electronic fuel injected, 1950's era
302 cubic inch six cylinder.
As you can see, she runs like a champ! and makes decent power at 10psi!

1994 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer Tahoe 4x4 2-Door part 2 (Startup, walkaround)!
1994 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer Tahoe 4x4 at Lafferty Chevrolet, the same
dealership where my dad purchased a brand new S-10 Blazer (extremely
similar to this one) in June, 1993. The people at Lafferty are incredibly
nice, and I would like to give special thanks to the mechanic (seen in this
video) for taking time out of his busy schedule to jumpstart this Blazer
for me. I would also like to thank the owners of Lafferty for letting
wander the backlot of the dealership and handing me the keys to the Blazers
I have made videos of. I would also like to thank my buddy Mike (seen
briefly and also acting as my cameraman on occasion) for his help with this
Also, for those who are interested, there were several songs that came on
the radio in the Blazer during the video. I was able to identify three of
them (all of which I have on my iPod):
"Turn the Page" by Bob Seger
"Turn up the Radio" by Autograph
"Turn to Stone" by Electric Light Orchestra
This was actually not a coincidence that all three of these songs began
with the word "turn" LOL! I forget whether I had the radio tuned to 99.9
The Hawk (based in the Lehigh Valley) or 93.3 WMMR (based in Philly), but
whatever station it was had an A-Z music marathon going on at the time.
Jimmy vs Cherokee Pull Off
'96 GMC Jimmy 2wd vs a '90 Jeep Cherokee 4X4. Kind of a spur of the moment
thing, there was nothing better to do at the time. It's kind of unfair to
the Jimmy, because the Cherokee's pulling the Jimmy up. All in good fun
though. Cherokee was in 2wd and 4wd at various times. Dirt doesn't make for
very good pull offs either.
Bought the Jimmy for $300 and the Cherokee for $650. Jimmy was turn key
after the thermostat, Cherokee needed a new head gasket and cooling system
overhaul (swapped closed system for open). The Jimmy ended up slowly
falling apart, so we sold it for about $2300, a fair price for what it was.
Still have the Cherokee. Both were bone stock at the time.
I'm driving the Jimmy, my brother Eric is driving his Cherokee, and his
friend Aaron is filming.
