► The C 63 AMG "Edition 507" produces 373 kW (507 hp), and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds in the guise of the Saloon and Coupé, and in 4.3 seconds as the Estate. As such it outperforms the 336 kW (457 hp) standard model by two tenths of a second, and the variants with the AMG Performance package which produce 358 kW (487 hp) by one tenth of a second each. The top speed of all variants is 280 km/h (electronically limited): this is because as standard the "Edition 507" models are fitted with the AMG Driver's package. In addition to an increase in the restriction imposed on the top speed, the package also includes a voucher for attendance of a driver training session at the AMG Driving Academy.
The C 63 AMG "Edition 507" will be celebrating its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, which will be opening its doors from 5 March 2013. The model's sales release is scheduled to begin on 8 April 2013, while the market launch in Germany will commence in June of this year.
2014 Mercedes Arocs INTERIOR
Mercedes-Benz Trucks is continuing to revamp its range of trucks at top
speed. The new specialist for construction work is following on the heels
of the new Actros for long-distance transport and the Antos for heavy-duty
short-radius distribution: from 2013 on all the trucks and tractor units
used for on and off-road applications in the construction sector will be
known under the name Arocs.
This extremely diversified sector has never seen such a wide range of
vehicles on offer to suit customer needs. From the outset, all the engines
have been designed to meet the future Euro VI emissions standard and are
available for order as a Euro VI version.
The unmistakeable design of the new Mercedes-Benz Arocs is as unusual as
the complete truck. The specially designed styling of the construction
truck family stands out because of its radiator grille with so-called
bucket-teeth- look. It sends a clear message: the sturdy "teeth" stand for
biting one's way through and knuckling down to the job.

2014 Mercedes E63 AMG - TEST DRIVE on Racetrack
Acceleration to 100 km/h from a standing start in 3.6 seconds provides the
E 63 AMG S-Model with a comfortable lead over the entire competition; the
top speed stands at 250 km/h (electronically limited). In addition to the
increase in output, this is also attributable in no small part to the
AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive with a power distribution ratio of 33 to 67
percent (front/rear axle). Perfect traction during acceleration effectively
avoids slip-induced losses.
On the new S-Model the AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine generates a maximum output of 430 kW
(585 hp) and maximum torque of 800 Newton metres -- representing an
increase of 20 kW (28 hp) over the AMG Performance package which was
previously available as an option. This enhanced performance and power
results from adaptation of the engine application, an increase in peak
pressure and a rise in the charge pressure from 0.9 to 1.0 bar. At 410 kW
(557 hp) and 720 Newton metres, the basic model also boasts an increase of
24 kW (32 hp) and 20 Newton metres over its predecessor.
Despite added power and enhanced performance, all models of the E 63 AMG
offer high efficiency, low fuel consumption and low Exhaust emissions. The AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine remains the most efficient
series production V8 engine around -- with substantially more cubic
capacity than its direct competitors. The E 63 AMG rated at 410 kW
(557 hp) with rear-wheel drive runs on 9.8 litres of fuel per 100
kilometres in accordance with NEDC (230 grams of CO2). The variant with
performance-oriented 4MATIC all-wheel drive and the S-Model rated at 430 kW
(585 hp) with all-wheel drive display only marginally higher fuel
consumption, at 10.3 to 10.5 litres per 100 km (242 grams to 246 grams of
CO2). As an additional boon, following the implementation of internal
engine measures all E 63 AMGs meet the requirements of the stringent Euro 6
emissions standard which will not
enter into force until 2015.
Maximum individuality and customised dynamics -- these are the special
strengths of the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission. The four
modes -- "C" (Controlled Efficiency), "S" (Sport), "S+" (Sport plus) and
"M" (Manual) -- offer the driver a personal set-up. In "C" mode, the ECO
start/stop function is active and switches off the eight-cylinder engine
when the vehicle is at a standstill. In addition, the transmission
characteristics are tangibly soft, with smooth and early gear changes.
Second gear is generally used as the starting gear in this mode.
The engine and transmission are far more agile in "S", "S+" and "M" mode;
in addition, the ECO start/stop function is deactivated. Partial
suppression of the cylinders proves perfect for an emphatic driving style:
briefly and precisely interrupting ignition and injection under full load
leads to even faster gearshifts
with a more emotional sound than before. An automatic double-declutching
function for downshifting and the RACE START function are also included as
standard with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission.
VW Golf 7 4MOTION - Animation Technology
Volkswagen is expanding the new Golf range: following the models with
front-wheel drive launched at the end of 2012, the versions with 4MOTION
all-wheel drive are now being unveiled. Volkswagen is thus continuing the
long tradition of four-wheel drive Golf models -- the first Golf with four
driven wheels made its debut back in 1986. The new Golf's permanent
four-wheel drive system is one of the most modern and efficient of its kind
in the world. In this latest version of the Golf 4MOTION Volkswagen is
using a four-wheel drive system with an enhanced, fifth-generation Haldex
coupling. The intelligently controlled 4MOTION drive weighs 1.4 kilograms
less than the previous system, requires no pressure accumulator and reacts
extremely quickly to every conceivable influence exerted on it. The result
is greater active safety and improved handling.
15 per cent lower fuel consumption. Volkswagen is offering the new Golf
4MOTION in Europe in three levels of specification (Trendline, Comfortline,
Highline) and with two turbo diesel
engines that provide both high torque and great fuel efficiency. The common
rail four-cylinder engines deliver 77 kW / 105 PS and 110 kW / 150 PS and
consume just 4.5 / 4.7 litres of fuel respectively per 100 kilometres. Just
how efficiently the four-wheel drive Golf works is shown by a fuel
consumption comparison between the 103 kW / 140 PS version of the old Golf
4MOTION and the new 150 PS model: despite being 10 PS more powerful, the
2013 Golf 4MOTION consumes 0.8 litres (15 per cent) less diesel.
High tech as standard. Like the front-wheel drive versions the new 4MOTION
models are equipped as standard with a Stop/Start system and battery
regeneration. Also included as standard even on the base version
(Trendline) are features such as the four-wheel EDS (electronic
differential locks on both axles), the XDS front and rear axle transverse
lock, the electronic stabilisation programme, an Automatic Post-Collision
Braking System, seven airbags, daytime running lights, air conditioning,
electric windows front and back, a multi-function display (on-board
computer) and a TFT display with touchscreen operation. The premium payable
for the permanent four-wheel drive system on the Golf 4MOTION -- sold
fundamentally as a four-door vehicle -- is €1,800 in Germany.
2014 Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe (C217) Start Up, Exhaust, Test Drive, and In Depth Review
We had the chance to drive the all new 2014 Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG 4MATIC
Coupe (C217)for two days in the surroundings of Pisa and Florence in Italy.
Here is our In Depth Review of the newest Mercedes-Benz S-Class creation,
the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG (V222). We enjoyed our test drive with the
2014 Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe (C217) , we hope you will like our
video review as well. Make sure you don't miss the Start Up and the Exhaust sound.
The new S 63 AMG Coupé is the latest dream car to augment the Mercedes-AMG
model range. Exciting lines underpin this two-door model's design.
Dominance and sensual purity combine to lend the vehicle irresistible
presence and effortlessly superior sportiness. Equally impressive is the
combination of high driving dynamics, ambitious lightweight construction
and groundbreaking efficiency. As the most powerful member of the
BlueDIRECT engine family, the AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine is a paragon of poise and assurance.
Boasting an output of 430 kW (585 hp) and 900 Nm of torque, the S 63 AMG
Coupé delivers exceptional performance with remarkably low fuel
consumption. Performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive is available
as an option. And there is a world first in the shape of the curve tilting
function, part of the MAGIC BODY CONTROL suspension system, to further
enhance both driving pleasure and comfort.

As with the transmission, customers also get a choice when it comes to the
AMG sports suspension: the rear-wheel-drive S 63 AMG Coupé is equipped
with MAGIC BODY CONTROL, while the all-wheel-drive version of the two-door
model features the full air-suspension system AIRMATIC with the adaptive
damping system ADS PLUS. Specific front axle kinematics -- including higher
camber, a larger anti-roll bar and a stiffer subframe carrier on the rear
axle -- have been developed exclusively for the S 63 AMG Coupé 4MATIC.
These measures enhance the vehicle's agility when driving dynamically.
2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Edition 507 Wagon! The Modern Hammer Wagon? - Ignition Ep. 76
On this episode of Ignition, Jonny Lieberman travels to Germany to drive a
car we don't get, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Edition 507 Wagon. Through the
winding roads of the Black Forest to the mean straights of Germany's
notorious Autobahn, Lieberman puts the 507 horsepower, 450 pound-feet
of torque super wagon through its paces. The question isn't whether or not
a wagon fanatic like Lieberman likes the 507 wagon (he does), but if the
new AMG grocery hauler can live up to the legend that came before it, the
mighty Hammer Wagon.
Ignition appears every Monday on the Motor Trend youtube channel.
