Tractor Pull Crashes
This is a little video I compiled drawing specific clips from the hours of
pulling footage I have.
You might notice that some of the most spectacular blowups come from the
super stock class - a class where competitors generally use diesel truck
engines, displacing 500 c.i. or less and generally designed to produce
350-450hp. Fitted for pulling, these same engines can sometimes produce
more than 3,000hp running on diesel or methanol with water injection and up
to four massive turbos. While these
modifications increase performance substantially, they also make the
equipment prone to catastrophic mechanical failures, perhaps second only in
magnitude to NHRA top fuelers and nitro funny cars.
