2013 Toyota RAV4 Test Drive & Crossover SUV Video Review

http://www.autobytel.com/toyota/rav4/?id=32972 The Toyota RAV4 first hit the shores here in the U.S. back in 1996. This little crossover SUV along with the Honda CR-V is responsible for starting the crossover craze. Today there are almost 50 different crossover models for sale here in America. The 4th generation RAV4 is an updated model that gets a complete interior and exterior redesign as well as an updated powerplant. The 2013 Toyota RAV4 comes in 3 trim levels: the LE, the XLE, and the top of the line Limited. The base price on the LE trim is just under $25k The RAV4 vs. CR-V battle reminds us of the old Ford vs. Chevy battles during the muscle car era. Over the past few years the Honda CR-V has really taken over the segment, gaining the most market share. But the all-new 2013 Toyota RAV4 aims to get back on top of the crossover sales charts. There are a ton of new features and lots of changes that make the 4th generation RAV4 the best ever. The past generation Toyota RAV4 came with a choice of a 4-cylinder or V-6 engine. Well the larger V-6 has been dropped and now the only engine offered is an efficient 2.5 liter 4-cylinder making 176 horsepower and 172 lb-ft. of torque. What that means is coupled with the standard 6-speed automatic transmission and FWD; the 2013 Toyota RAV4 will return 31 MPG on the highway. You can also opt for an AWD version as a $1400 option. The 2013 Toyota RAV4 has been completely redesigned outside and in. It all starts with a brand new front end consisting of a bold grille and headlights that look similar to the new Camry. This generation RAV4 was made more aerodynamic and the result is better fuel economy. If you are buying a crossover chances are you may be driving around small children. The new Toyota RAV4 comes with a segment leading 8 standard air bags. Toyota engineers also worked the interior design to allow for the most cargo volume in the segment. The interior of the 2013 Toyota RAV4 is completely new with some great new features including an Acoustic Windshield which helps reduce wind noise. From the driver's perspective, the new instrumentation is pleasing while being easy to use. After the 7 year run of the previous model, Toyota has really stepped it up inside the cabin. The 2013 Toyota RAV4 sits nicely on the road and you will like the way it drives on the highway. This is an economy crossover SUV after all so you shouldn't expect the RAV4 to ride like a luxury car. Bottom line is that Toyota did a great job on the newly redesigned RAV4. They really hit the mark on this one and it's a huge improvement over the outgoing model. The 2013 Toyota RAV4 certainly has all the features you need. In fact the RAV4 can now compete with the Honda CR-V at the top of the economy crossover SUV segment. 2013 Audi RS 5 Track Test Drive & Sports Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/audi/rs-5/2013/?id=32972 The 2013 Audi RS 5 is a great performing luxury sports car that is a true competitor to the BMW M3 and Mercedes C63 AMG. If this car proves to be anything close to the previous RS models it will be rare, collectable, and a great value with a starting price of under $70k. Anytime Audi manufacturers a vehicle with the letter "R" in the model name, you know the car is going to be a high performance machine. Think about the RS 4, RS 6, TT RS, and of course the legendary R8 are all great sports cars. What we have here for the first time ever in the U.S. is the Audi RS 5. This 2-door luxury sports coupe has a base price of $68,900. There are many ways the 2013 Audi RS 5 is distinguished from the A5/S5. The first thing you will notice is the massive front grille called the Singleframe grille with diamond mesh and Aluminum optic surround. Out back the Adaptive rear spoiler is unique to the RS 5. There are other exterior cues too but it's really what you cannot see like the shocks, springs, wheels, and engine that set this car apart from the rest. There are 3 different engine offerings throughout the range of Audi A5/S5/RS 5 family of vehicles. The A5 gets a turbocharged 4-cylinder, the S5 gets a supercharged V-6, and the RS 5 has a normally aspirated V-8. The engine powering the 2013 Audi RS 5 is a 4.2 liter V-8 that makes 450 horsepower and 317 lb-ft. of torque. The only transmission offering is a 7-speed automatic with auto-shift. Fuel economy figures are 16 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway. But the 2013 Audi RS 5 is not so much about horsepower as it is about performance in cornering and handling. The standard wheels on the RS 5 are 19-inch 10-spoke wheels but you can upgrade to 20-inch wheels wrapped in 275/30 series tires. Of course every Audi performance ride comes with the addition of Quattro all-wheel drive. What's unique about the Quattro system on the 2013 Audi RS 5 is that 60% of the power goes to the rear wheels and extra power can be applied to the outside rear wheel during cornering. The 2013 Audi RS 5 is far from disappointing. It reminds us of a more refined version of the RS 4 sedan that was out a few years ago in the sense that you have a great roaring V-8 motor with the legendary Quattro AWD system that vehicles like the BMW M3 and Mercedes C63 AMG do not have. What that does is make average drivers good and good drivers better. This car is a thrill to drive both on the track and around town thanks to all the refinements Audi has put into the RS 5. 2014 Toyota 4Runner Limited Test Drive Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/toyota/4runner/2014/?id=32972 For 2014, Toyota has subtly restyled the 4Runner. The Limited model seen here benefits from a unique grille treatment, 20-inch aluminum wheels, and tons of chrome. Overall the 4Runner is a great looking SUV. This is still an off-road vehicle and the 4Runner gets skid plates on all models. The base price for the SR5 trim is $32,820 and the top of the line Limited will start at $43,400. Under the hood is a 4.0 liter V-6 engine that makes 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed automatic. Fuel economy is 17 MPG in the city and 21 MPG on the highway. The 4Runner has a 3rd row and thus can seat 7 passengers. The inside is very comfortable with easy to operate controls. The 4Runner is designed first and foremost to go off-road. Thus this SUV can go anywhere at any time. If you are the type of person who loves the outdoor lifestyle then the 4Runner is a great choice. For the rest of the commuters out there the Toyota Highlander is a better choice. 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL350 BlueTec Diesel Test Drive & Luxury SUV Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/mercedes-benz/gl-class/2013/gl350-bluetec/?id=3297 2 The 2013 Mercedes GL-Class is a full sized luxury SUV. There are 3 different trim levels that include the GL550, GL450, and GL350. The original GL-Class was introduced to the U.S. as a 2007 model and not too much has changed since that time. The GL is a 5-door 7-passenger SUV. Similar luxury SUVs in this class include the Audi Q7, Infiniti QX, Lexus LX, and the Cadillac Escalade; only one of which offers a diesel model. The starting price is $62,400 for the GL350 with the top of the line GL550 model costing $86,900. Did you know that diesels only account for 1% of all passenger car and truck sales in the U.S. while hybrids account for more than 3%? For some reason Americans just do not embrace the diesel technology. The 2013 Mercedes GL350 BlueTec is a good reason why you should look into diesel powered vehicles. The engine is a 3.0 liter turbodiesel that makes 240 horsepower and 455 lb-ft. of torque. Most full sized SUVs have a hard time breaking the 20 MPG marker since they are heavy, bulky, and not very aerodynamic. But the 2013 Mercedes GL350 BlueTec averages 19 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. The transmission is a 7-speed automatic. Like with any Mercedes SUV, 4MATIC AWD is standard as are a bunch of features and luxury amenities. Even though this GL looks like the original 2007 model, there are actually over 1000 new parts. Mercedes really listened to its owners and they made a lot of improvements over the past few years. There is a ton of rear passenger leg and head room. The GL-Class went from being a quirky German made SUV that was adapted for the American market to a full-blown luxury SUV that is real gem. 2013 Honda Accord Sedan Test Drive & Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/honda/accord/2013/ The mid-sized sedan segment is by far the most competitive segment in the entire automotive industry. Practically every manufacturer has a vehicle targeting this segment. For years the Accord was at the top of the heap winning award after award, year after year. But the Accord quickly got stale and with the new Ford Fusion, Nissan Altima, and Toyota Camry redesigns; the Accord was losing ground quickly. Now we have a new measuring stick with the all new redesigned 2013 Honda Accord Sedan. The Accord is one of the safest bets in America today. The base price is $21,680; the car drives great, has a nice resale value, and offers wonderful reliability. Most enthusiasts and automotive journalist would cringe at the thought of having to test drive yet another family sedan. But the reality is that this is still the most popular segment of car in America today. The Camry and Accord combined sell almost a million cars per year. Honda has basically set the standard with the Accord for over 30 years. This nameplate has been around since the 1970's and is now in its 9th generation and the Accord keeps on getting better. What's unusual about the new 2013 Honda Accord is that it has actually gotten shorter while interior room has increased and the cargo room is larger, which is a great testament to Honda Engineers. Styling is dramatically improved with the nice shoulder lines and shorter overhangs. Basically the car looks more modern and up to date. But it is not just about styling with the new Accord Sedan. Under the hood is a brand new engine and CVT transmission. Not to be outdone by Mazda's SkyActiv engine technology, Honda has released their own line called Earth Dreams Technology. The new engine is very efficient and powerful. The motor is a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder that makes 185 horsepower and 181 lb-ft. of torque. The CVT transmission helps the Accord to get fuel economy ratings of 27 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway. The Accord comes in several trim levels that include the: Base LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and the top of the line Touring model. If you want to get a 4-cylinder engine, that comes standard on the 3 lower trims. When you move up to the more expensive trims the V-6 engine becomes optional/standard. Shoppers of mid-sized sedans are looking for rear legroom space. Thankfully the Accord has plenty of it including a lot of rear headroom too. The Accord's interior has been completely redesigned. You have an all new instrument panel, center stack, and gauges. Everything works really well. The speedometer looks like a high-tech Swiss watch, the steering wheel is nice and compact, and the controls are great. Another bonus is the fact that every 2013 Honda Accord comes with and 8-inch infotainment screen standard as well as a rear backup camera. The Accord also comes with Honda's new lane-watch safety system. See More Car Videos http://www.autobytel.com/car-videos/ Join Our Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/autobytel

2014 Toyota RAV4 Compact Crossover Review and Road Test
Check out my other videos! http://vid.io/xqoB Who is Alex? Find out here! http://vid.io/xqoF The big change for 2014 out back. It's not what you see, it's what you don't. The spare tire that clung to the back of the 2013 model like an octogenarian clinging to the past is gone. The removal of the tire makes completes the RAV4′s exterior transformation from Toyota Trucklet to crossover. By going hatch-mainstream, practicality is greatly improved allowing easier access when parallel parked or parked on a hill. Because of the RAV's increased dimensions and the new hatch, it is possible to fit 4×8 sheets inside if you leave the hatch cracked. The RAV4′s cargo hold has one of the lowest lift-over heights for loading in the compact crossover segment. While this makes loading easier, it means the hatch is closer to the ground and makes opening it more awkward. I thought I was alone, but some of our Facebook friends commented that the hatch hit them in the abdomen if they didn't take a large step backwards when opening it. Toyota decided to kill off optional V6 for 2014, leaving the 2.5L four-cylinder the only powerplant. While the switch is likely to offend a few, the vast majority of RAV4 sales were four-cylinder anyway. Toyota's logic was this: the prime competitor is the CR-V and it's four-cylinder only. The 2.5L engine is good for 176 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of twist placing it in the thick of the competition. Since the 2.5L is no longer the base engine Toyota fitted it with their 6-speed automatic transaxle to improve performance and fuel economy. MPGs rise to 24 City and 31 Highway in FWD trim which is above the CR-V and GM crossovers but well below the Mazda CX-5′s impressive 26/35 score (2.0L engine and manual transmission.) For $1,400 Toyota will toss in their full-time AWD system on any trim level. The RAV4′s AWD system follows the same formula as the rest with a multi-plate coupling acting as a quasi center differential. This system is somewhat unusual however because the driver can lock the coupling on demand via a button in the dash. Although the lock will self-disengage over 25MPH, only the Jeep crossovers offer a similar touch. Engaging the car's "sport" mode alters the throttle mapping, transmission shift points and encourages the coupling to lock more frequently to try and limit the FWD nature of the RAV. Toyota has a history of playing to the "meat" of every segment. Rarely does Toyota build anything extreme, be it the cheapest car in its class, the most expensive, fastest, slowest, etc. That describes the RAV4 to a tee. After a week with the RAV4 I wasn't offended but neither was I enraptured. Toyota's trucklet is reasonably priced ranging from $23,300-$28,410 and in most trims represents a decent (but not extreme) value compared to the competition. Yes, the CX-5 is more exciting, but like the more luxurious and gadget-rich Escape, it'll cost you more. The CR-V is quieter but it's also a few bucks more expensive. The Cherokee is more off-road capable but Chrysler's reliability reputation isn't exactly stellar. The Forester is the better choice for wagon lovers and the Sportage and Escape have powerful turbo options that speak to my heart. The GMC Terrain and Chevy Equinox have been refreshed and feature 301 horsepower mills for those that like to count ponies and an infotainment system that's more attractive than Entune. The new RAV is, without a doubt, a better 2-row crossover than the model it replaces. It's also a very pragmatic choice delivering a blend of good fuel economy, large cargo hold, an AWD system that's more capable than most in the segment and, being a Toyota, it's likely to have a good reliability record as well. The 2014 RAV4 is a solid crossover and you can't go wrong by putting one in your driveway. If however you want my advice, and since you're reading this I assume you do, check out the CX-5 and Escape before you sign on the dotted line.

Freshened styling, generous standard equipment, sporty driving dynamics, and excellent fuel efficiency push the vehicle back to the top 3 in the compact segment. Although, still missing a few key upscale tech features, the strong value is hard to ignore. If you are in the market for a compact sedan with a reputation for reliability, put the Civic back to the top of your list. *Promotional consideration brought to you by Honda of Tyson's Corner located at 1580 Spring Hill Road, Vienna VA, 22182*

2013 Toyota RAV4 vs 2014 Mazda CX-5 - Track Comparison
Several months ago, AutoGuide set a Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5 side-by-side. As you might remember, Mazda won. It wasn't long before Toyota launched a letter our way expressing discontent with the result. And rightfully so. The previous verdict came, in part, because the all-wheel drive CX-5 scored more points in driving dynamics than the front-wheel drive RAV4 Toyota lent us for the shootout. Insisting on a rematch, the brand brought AutoGuide a more comparable model equipped with all-wheel drive. This time around, the two are not only competing on a more level playing field, but the RAV4 actually has an ace up its proverbial sleeve, sporting a more sophisticated all-wheel drive system. http://www.autoguide.com/car-comparisons/2013-toyota-rav4-vs-2014-mazda-cx5 -3504.html Subscribe http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=AutoGuideVideo YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/user/AutoguideVideo Facebook - http://facebook.com/AutoGuide Twitter - http://twitter.com/AutoGuide Google+ - http://goo.gl/LBxsP Web - http://www.AutoGuide.com AutoGuide reviews the latest new cars with test drives, car comparisons and shootouts plus coverage of breaking auto industry news, auto shows, rumors and spy photos.
