How To Build A Dune Buggy From Scratch - 011 - Painting Over Rust
Day 11, brushing off rust, then shooting some primer and paint. Day 10, using a cheap tubing notcher to get "good-enough" notches. Day 9, we tear-down the old motor, and get ready to clean it up and replace the worn parts. On the eight day, we are confronted by math, my arch nemesis! On the seventh day, we remove the motor from the axle housing, and open up the differential for inspection. The sixth day ended in a rage quit. Life lesson, don't buy a U-shank jigsaw. Go with the T-shank! On the fifth day, I received a golf cart, ripe with parts I need to complete this build! However, it had been sitting outside for over a year, and was full of rust and spiders. Not a fun day. Productive, but not fun. The fourth day consisted of some hardcore FCAW welding, along with some grounding issues and wire feed problems! If anyone has advice on how I can get my FCAW to work better, please let me know! The third day of work was all about tack welding. I also made one test weld. If anyone has advice on how I can get my FCAW to work better, please let me know! The second day of work was all about miter joints and tack welding. The first day of work on the custom off-road dune buggy was all about cutting six 21-foot pieces of pipe into 40+ small pieces of varying length. I started with a jigsaw, gave up after breaking 7 blades, and then managed to find a miter saw and specialty blade for 1/2 the price of a chopsaw. I also used my FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) for the first time, and tacked up the top planar section of the frame. 2015 Cadillac Escalade Luxury Review
In today's video I give detailed tour of the all-new 2015 Cadillac Escalade 4wd Luxury showing exterior, engine and interior. For the fourth generation Escalade, the SUVs share the same interior and exterior DNA as the Suburban/Tahoe and Yukon/XL/Denali. The only difference is that the front fascia has been completely redesigned featuring the same Cadillac signature frontal design, while the LED taillamps that are located in the back now extend from the bumper all the way up to the top of the tailgate. The cargo space was reduced from 109.8 in (2,789 mm) to 94.2 in (2,393 mm) on the standard base and from 137.5 in (3,492 mm) to 120.5 in (3,061 mm) on the ESV in order to allow an additional 1.7 inches of headroom and 45.3 inches of legroom in the front while reducing the third-row legroom space to 24.8 inches from 25.6 inches. GM's 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8, good for 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, is the only engine offered, along with a new coil-over front suspension and five-link rear setup, a wider track, variable-assist electric power steering and Cadillac's Magnetic Ride Control system with Tour and Sport modes. The interior now boast a hand-crafted design that features cut-and-sewn and wrapped materials, with wood trim options chosen for elegance and authenticity. The dashboard was also updated, and the Cadillac CUE system is added as a standard feature.
