How to Rebuild a Turbo - Part 1 of 2
Rebuilding a td05h 16g turbo. This process can be applied to many journal bearing turbochargers. :) It definitely comes in handy to know how to do this when you are in this type of hobby. 4/25/12: Small explanation on the balancing of the rotating assembly since I get so many comments regarding it. This particular turbocharger, td05h, has its rotating assembly components balanced separately. This means each individual part (compressor wheel, turbine wheel/shaft) gets balanced separately. This allows for easy interchangeability of parts in case they need replacing. This is why I am able to install a td05 20g wheel on this turbo without having to balance the entire rotating assembly. THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR ALL turboS OUT THERE. You need to research whether your specific turbo (if it's not td05h) was balanced as an assembly or "component balanced" like I explained above. I hope this information helps. Good luck in your projects. AJs vs The Soiled SAAB
AJs took on the complete detail challenge of this 1995 SAAB 900. The car was used as a commuter vehicle through the red dirt roads of Mendocino County. The customer was hoping to sell the car and needed a professional to handle this extreme detailing job. Watch to see the amazing transformation! NOTE: Engine steam cleaning is an additional service on top of a complete detail. Normal completion time for a job this big usually takes between 4-5 hours. Additional fees are also charged for heavily soiled vehicles and to those older than the year 2000.

Fixing Saab 9-5 Security System Problems -EricTheCarGuy
Visit me at: http://www.ericthecarguy.com/ As I said in the video the owner brought me this car along with the supposed fix. The symptoms were an intermittent no start and a message on the dash indicating a security system problem. Apparently this is a common problem with Saabs of this vintage and the problem is usually linked to this siren/security module. Apparently the batteries go bad in the unit causing it to act up intermittently. In this video I show the steps needed to replace the module, it's actually a very easy job that does not require a lot of tools. So if you have an issue with the security system on a Saab of this vintage you might want to give this fix a try. Here's the ebay store link to the company that rebuilds the modules. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2001-Saab-9-5-Anti-Theft-Alarm-Siren-Repair-Service -01-95-9-5-/230743686144?pt=Automotive_Services&vxp=mtr&hash=item35b9653c00 Discussion about this video: https://www.ericthecarguy.com/kunena/18-The-EricTheCarGuy-Video-Forum/44233 -2001-saab-security-system-repair#54463 Stay Dirty ETCG Due to factors beyond the control of EricTheCarGuy, it cannot guarantee against unauthorized modifications of this information, or improper use of this information.  EricTheCarGuy assumes no liability for property damage or injury incurred as a result of any of the information contained in this video. EricTheCarGuy recommends safe practices when working with power tools, automotive lifts, lifting tools, jack stands, electrical equipment, blunt instruments, chemicals, lubricants, or any other tools or equipment seen or implied in this video.  Due to factors beyond the control of EricTheCarGuy, no information contained in this video shall create any express or implied warranty or guarantee of any particular result.  Any injury, damage or loss that may result from improper use of these tools, equipment, or the information contained in this video is the sole responsibility of the user and not EricTheCarGuy.

Solving 2001 Saab 9-5 ABS/TCS/CEL Problem -EricTheCarGuy
Visit me at: http://www.ericthecarguy.com/ This 2001 Saab 9-5 came in with just about every light lit up on the dash. The first code I pulled was a P1625 for the CEL which indicates a communication error between the ABS unit and the PCM. After looking into this code I found out this is a common problem with these Bosch ABS units. Rather than purchasing a new unit however I decided to send the existing ABS unit off to BBA Remanufacturing for remanufacture. Some of these units require that you pair a new unit up with the PCM, mine was one of those so sending off my existing unit made the most sense because if I had just gotten a remanufactured one I would have had to program it to work with the cars PCM. This took a bit longer but it saved me quite a bit of trouble in the end. Here are some useful links mentioned in the video. Link to P1625 findings: http://www.saablink.net/forum/car-problems-ng900-old-9-3-only/45182.htm Link to BBA remanufacture service: http://www.ebay.com/itm/330688725218?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984 .m1439.l2649 Discussion about this video: https://www.ericthecarguy.com/kunena/18-The-EricTheCarGuy-Video-Forum/44796 -saab-abstcscel-repair#57607 Stay Dirty ETCG Due to factors beyond the control of EricTheCarGuy, it cannot guarantee against unauthorized modifications of this information, or improper use of this information.

Fixing A Broken Power Window 2002 Saab 9-5 turbo - EricTheCarGuy http://www.ericthecarguy.com/ Well it's not often I see a Saab at the shop but this one showed up with a broken passenger window that came off of it's track. How To Remove Wheel Locks Without a Key - EricTheCarGuy
How To Remove Wheel Locks Without a Key - EricTheCarGuy As I state in the video DONOT use this information for illegal purposes, it is intended to HELP you if you happen to loose your wheel lock key. As with most things that I do with cars this didn't go exactly as planned, in fact there is a significant amount of time between me getting the socket hammered onto the wheel lock and when it actually broke loose, I took a break to work on other things. I also said in the video that they make a special socket for removing wheel locks that makes this a lot easier, do a search for this and you will probably find a set of them. If you can't find one of these sockets then this might be an option for you to try. The best thing is to try not to loose the lock key in the first place but I realize that this may not always be possible so I made this video for you. Stop by and see me at EricTheCarGuy.com anytime and post video or text responses at will. --- Click below and Stay Dirty Visit me at EricTheCarGuy.com http://ericthecarguy.com/ Visit EricTheCarGuy Forum http://www.ericthecarguy.com/forum/default.aspx Visit my Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/EricTheCarGuy --- Stay dirty ETCG Due to factors beyond the control of EricTheCarGuy, it cannot guarantee against unauthorized modifications of this information, or improper use of this information.
