The mystery of the Saab headlamp switch
Here's reason #1 why Saabs are known to be "quirky"... The headlamp switch is not typical. In this video I explain the "modes" that control the sophisticated lighting system in a 2007 Saab 9-3. I demonstrate how to use these functions: flash-to-pass, follow-me-home, and remote control.
Saab 9-5 SID LCD Display Repair
My repair of a Saab SID display, which had lost pixels on the LCD screen. Ultimately, I discovered the ribbon cable had deteriorated beyond repair, and I purchased a replacement ribbon cable. A $400 unit was fixed for a little more than $40.
Saab 9-3SS Aero - Warning for potential buyers!
What a waste of money! Great dealer service, awful car.
I love(d) this car. It looks great, drives well and it's seriously quick... when it works.
How to Add an AUX Input to a Saab 9-3
This video shows how to add an AUX input jack to a 2003 or newer Saab 9-3. Before doing this you might want to look in your center armrest and see if there's one there already. I had one, I just didn't know it. Oh well... I like the location of this one better anyway. My car is a 2006. I don't know what year Saab started adding the AUX input in the armrest, but some of the earlier cars didn't have them.
Anyway, now I have TWO AUX inputs! :-)
If your car is a 2003 through 2005, go here to see how to connect the wires directly to the pins on the back of the stereo: http://www.saabcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21434
Saab 9-3 bumper and headlight removal
Removing the front bumper and xenon headlight then removing the xenon bulb, bulb igniter and ballast from a Saab 9-3. It is not necessary to remove the bumper or headlight assemblies to replace the bulbs. But, now you know how, if you ever needed or wanted to.
Beautiful Swedish car, SAAB 9-5.
I am really into SAAB cars; I own a 2003 9-3 that I am very fond of. I put together this video, from different clips, for the new Saab 9-5. I think the new 9-5 is very stylish in design and sporty in performance. I am seriously considering buying one and when I do I will be sure to make a video to share how I feel about Saab's great cars
Saab 9-5 2.0T OpenSID w/Engine Mode
Activated OpenSID and Engine Mode on my Saab 9-5.
Engine mode settings are E = Economy, N = Normal and S = Sport.
In this case, E = Lambda-controlled, limited power, about 0,45Bar Boost. N = Normal map, 1,5Bar Boost and S = Normal map + better throttle response.
Saab 9-5 Ignition
This is how a properly functioning ignition switch works in a Saab 9-5. Notice when the key is removed it pops up. This tells the cabin lights to turn on, the radio to turn off, and the door chime to stop dinging.
Saab 9-5 SID Swap
The importance of getting the correct SID in your 9-5. Not all SID's speak the same "language". Saab used the same SID's for model years '98-'01, one SID for all '02's, one for all '03's, and one updated unit for all '04-'05 models.
