Chevy Volt vs. Nissan LEAF
There's a lot of controversy comparing the Nissan LEAF to the Chevy Volt, but it all has to do with whether or not the Volt is truly an electric car, or whether it's a hybrid. But let's set their powertrains aside for the moment. John McElroy just got a chance to test drive both cars, back to back, and here's his impression of what the they're like.

New Electric Cars Are Better
Just showing off some of the cool new electric cars and putting to rest some of the myths out there. When people think of electric cars, typically they think of older ugly slower models, lead-acid batterys, and BS propaganda they've read slamming the "electric cars"(as though they all carried the exact same attributes) The battery technology has changed(and will change even more when nanowire battery becomes common), the speeds have changed, the climate versatility has changed, the prices are changing, the car companies are changing... everything is changing for the better. I expect to see a lot more support for EV's during and after 2010. Music, San Francisco, by: Global Deejays

2015 Chevrolet Volt Review + How it's Made
2015 Chevrolet Volt Review + How it's Made The 2014 Chevrolet Volt ranks 11 out of 22 Upscale Midsize Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of published reviews and test drives of the Chevrolet Volt, as well as reliability and safety data. The 2014 Chevrolet Volt is ranked: #11 in Upscale Midsize Cars #13 in Hatchbacks #9 in Hybrid Cars Reviewers like the 2014 Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid's useful electric-only driving range and composed driving dynamics. Because it has the best combination of positive reviews, price and long-term ownership costs in its class, we named the 2014 Chevrolet Volt the Best Upscale Midsize Car for the Money. The Volt is powered by a pair of electric motors and a gasoline engine that serves as a backup generator for the motors when the battery is depleted. Test drivers say the powertrain provides ample power in all situations. Running only on electricity, the 2014 Volt achieves an EPA-estimated 98 mpg-equivalent, which is on par with other plug-in hybrids’ estimates. When the gas engine kicks in, it is rated at 35/40 mpg city/highway, which is a bit less than other plug-in hybrids’ fuel economy. However, compared with those rivals, the Volt has a substantially farther electric-only driving range of 38 miles per fully-charged battery. Despite its high-tech hybrid powertrain, the Volt scores points with reviewers for driving much like a regular car, with composed handling and responsive steering. Automotive journalists say the Chevrolet Volt has a modern-looking interior constructed with high-quality materials. The Chevy Volt seats up to four people, and many test drivers say that the front seats are comfortable, but the rear seats offer little headroom and legroom. Some critics also note that, for a hatchback, the Volt doesn't offer much cargo space. However, its cargo bay is similarly-sized to other plug-in hybrids’. Reviewers say that the touch-sensitive controls on the center stack are sometimes difficult to use. Standard equipment includes Bluetooth, Chevrolet's MyLink infotainment system, a six-speaker stereo and automatic climate control. Optional features include navigation, a backup camera, rear parking sensors and an energy-efficient Bose stereo system, which reviewers say delivers crisp, clear sound. 2015 Chevrolet Volt Review + How it's Made chevrolet volt review, chevrolet volt 2014, chevrolet volt 2015, chevrolet volt review 2014, chevrolet volt commercial, chevrolet volt vs toyota prius, chevrolet volt crash test, chevrolet volt battery, chevrolet volt cnet, chevrolet volt test drive
