1965 Austin Mini Cooper S Vintage Racing @ Grattan Michigan
Greg Wold is driving his very fast Mini at the VSCDA races in Grattan. I wish I could take credit for this, but this was Greg's idea. As you can see the car is fast, but watch Greg's footwork and you will see why the car is very fast.
1959 A-H Bugeye Sprite @ the VSCDA Vintage Classic XX - Blackhawk Farms Raceway
9 minutes of footage of Colin Comer driving his #04 1959 Austin Healey Sprite in the Group 2 Feature Race at Blackhawk Farms on June 17th 2012. Started on the pole and finished 1st overall (out of 40 cars) and 1st in class. Colin's teammate (and wife!) Cana Comer started 4th O/A and finished 3rd O/A and 1st in class in her #26 1959 Sprite
Formula Vee 750 MC Mallory Park 14/10/12 race 1
Race one in the final weekend of the 2012 Formula Vee championship 2012 at Mallory Park.
I started 15th and second in class, ending up 12th and first in class.
Throughout the race I was locked in a battle with three other class B cars, losing my nose cone half way through in a 'racing incident'.
This is by far the most fun I've had behind the wheel of my little car all year. Great racing.
Car is a Scarab mark 2 built and maintained by Andy Storer of RSS.

Racing: 2011 Runoffs SRF in-car camera
UPDATE: Broken right rear shock was the handling culprit. D'oh.
See more info below ("show more") - 2011 SCCA Runoffs. Class: SCCA Enterprises Spec Racer Ford (SRF)
Driver: Denny Stripling
Qualified 23rd, ran as high as 9th, finished 11th. Earned the Sunoco Hard Charger award. Rear-facing camera in upper left hand corner.
Welcome to my Runoffs experience. I didn't qualify where I wanted due to missing half of the week, having mechanical issues during my two qualifying sessions, and subsequently over-driving my ill-handling car trying to make up for lost time. Nevertheless, making up 14 spots during the race was certainly exciting and enjoyable. Before the race I made a fuel pressure adjustment that turned out to be ill-advised as I felt like I had less straightaway speed than I had during qualifying the day before. I made significant changes to try and loosen the car up and it worked... too much in fact in the carousel which killed me on the longest straightaway.
Overall a very fun weekend and some pretty entertaining video as a result. My brake pedal started to soften about a third of the way into the race so I had to push my braking zones way back (like an entire marker in some spots).
Enjoy!
MG, Porsche, and Triumph with the Zapata team at VIR Vintage
I was invited to go to the historic races in June at VIR by members of the Zapata Racing team out of Nashville TN. Being a car guy it was incredible. Cars you should only see in a museum are on the track doing exactly what they are designed to do....RACE.
It is amazing. If you have the means, you must go to one of these races.
Vintage Racing - 1950s Indy Cars startup and race. LOUD!!!
Chris Ashworth records a series of 1950s Indy Cars at Michigan International Speedway. This was a vintage racing event that was associated with the Concours d'elegance of America, where these cars were on display after this event.
This event was incredible! I got to wander in the pits and the garage area. You will hear these cars starting up right from the tailpipes, and you will see them driving on the track from the pits.

VSCDA Formula Vee Sprint Race at Grattan Raceway
VSCDA Grand Prix Au Grattan XXVI Saturday Formula Vee Sprint Race
Qualified 9th (8th in class) and got a great start. Around lap 8 this turns into a battle for 7th position between #75 Mark Silverberg, #95 Dan Hayes and myself with several position changes down to the last lap.
This time around I've used a split-screen for the front and rear cameras, instead of the PIP window used in earlier videos this year. Really gives a great feel for what's going on behind the car especially when fighting for position. Let me know what you think!
Vintage Racing Crash Roll cages are good
This is Mark with Zapata in second place of the last race at Roebling Road. Listen close and you can hear his rear axle snap. At that point he can't do anything but hold on. Mark is fine. This is a good reason to over build safety into any racecar.
We are making a Documentary movie about vintage racing. Go to
www.vintageracingtoday.com for more info. It comes out Summer 2012.
We are following six drivers from Nashville for a year making a film about Vintage Racing. Mark the driver in this video is one of those drivers. Go to www.vintageracingtoday.com to see the movie trailer.
VSCDA Formula Vee Sprint Race at Blackhawk
Highlights from the 8 lap Vintage Formula Vee Sprint race on Saturday, June 16th at the VSCDA Blackhawk Vintage Classic XX. This was my first race weekend of the 2012 season and there was a huge field of 34 cars in the FV class alone. Started 12th, finished 10th and my best lap time qualified me 7th for the feature race on Sunday.
Most of the action for me happened in the first half of the race, where I got ambitious in turns 7 and 1 a couple of times before finally making some passes stick. At about the 5:30 mark I'm catching up with the lead pack and try to take turn 4 flat out, which resulted in a little off-road excursion :) The other fun highlight towards the end is Mitch coming up fast behind me in Turn 1 and locking up all four wheels.
This year I added a rear facing GoPro Hero HD so there's a PIP window now, which gives some interesting perspectives and shows how fast other cars can catch up if you make a small mistake.
