At first glance you may try to figure out what futuristic medium this fire breathing monster has come from. Then on closer inspection you see that this really is a true 1969 Camaro taken to the max. Everything about this package says GO!! Original concept was to build the fastest street car and the owner surely accomplished that with some to spare. The car is now configured to be the wildest street legal Camaro on the planet. Yes I did say street legal!! (Registered & Currently Licensed), Just imagine the stir you will cause at the local cruise in, car show or a visit to the race strip. You will definitely be in a class all your own. This is not the ride for the faint of heart or the bashful type who does not enjoy attracting a crowd. The first thing you notice about this growling monster is the quality of the build. Everything is done perfect with nothing withheld and no expense spared. The fit and finish is beyond spectacular for this all metal 69. From the flawless body lines to the perfectly fabricated interior this build screams quality and beauty. There is no fiberglass here and no corners have been cut. The chassis is fabricated out of 4130 chrome- moly tubing built to 25-1c specifications. The custom interior is fabricated out of polished aluminum. The car is a true pro build from the well known Top Of The Hill in Pleasanton, Ca. Seeing as how the car is all metal it does weigh in a little bit more than a fiberglass car might and to account for the extra weight the car sports a 10 litre 636ci Arias Hemi to move it down the road. The engine is built on an aluminum Arias block, with a Velasco 5-inch stroke billet crankshaft and uses Brooks aluminum connecting rods. The heads come from Arias and are hemi style aluminum with Arias shaft. MSD 7AL and MSD Super Coil ignition system. Ultra Dyne cam. Hand made headers. Induction is from a massive Ron Caps Limited Production Supercharger that uses an Arias magnesium intake manifold and an Enderle Buzzard-Catcher injector. This combination is capable of over 1800hp. Car is currently configured to run on gasoline. Getting this amazing HP to the rear wheels is accomplished through Lenco 4- speed planetary transmission with a triple disc clutch, Lakewood bell-housing and a strange chrome-moly drive-shaft connected to a Ford 9" rearend. This is my 1988 451 stroker big block powered 1988 Dodge Dakota. I bought this truck for $100.00 back in the fall of 1999. This is a very fun vehicle to drive around town and is very street friendly. The engine is only 9.5:1 and burns 93 octane fuel. It has also run the local 1/8 mile track at to the tune of 7.40 @ 94 mph with 3.55:1 gears. Needless to say, being that its just a 1988 dakota...many people with chevelles, chargers, Camaros, corvettes, vipers and Mustangs are shocked when the realize that they just got thier asses handed to them by a little black truck. LOL! only kidding. As you can see, burnouts are effortless...more vids to come. Enjoy!

Dodge Dakota Coolant Leak Repair - Including Bypass Hose, Thermostat, Water Pump, etc.
To get to what turned out to be a Thermostat leak we had to remove the following items: The Serpentine belt, the fan, the Air Conditioning Compressor, the Alternator and the A/C and Alternator Bracket. This way you can easily access the bypass hose, the thermostat housing, and the upper heater hose (or otherwise called the heater to engine hose). This also gives you free access to the water pump if you were going to replace it. This is actually the easiest way to access the water pump as opposed to the way the service manual describes removing it (without removing the A/C and Alternator bracket). However, after doing the job we discovered a second leak on the lower heater hose (or the heater to water pump return hose). Which also needed to be corrected.
