How To Remove and Replace Valves in a Cylinder Head -EricTheCarGuy
If you need to remove a valve from a cylinder head either to replace the valve or replace the valve seals, this video will help you do that. You can also do this process while the cylinder head is still fastened to the engine block with some tools. To do that, put the piston at TDC compression stroke and make sure both valves are closed. You can then run compressed air into the cylinder to hold the valves in place as you compress the valve springs. I often use my compression tester hose to do this. You need to remove the schrader valve first before you attempt this, if not, air will not flow into the cylinder. You can also use a piece of rope or equivalent to keep the valves from dropping into the cylinder while you work. This method works well if you're just replacing the valve seals. You won't be able to use the large spring compressor however. You'll have to use the Lisle or some other type of compressor do manage that task. Here's some useful links for you. Tools. Large Spring Compressor: http://www.jbtoolsales.com/gearwrench-383d-valve-spring-compressor/#oid=100 2_1 Lisle Spring Compressor Tool: http://www.jbtoolsales.com/lisle-36050-valve-keeper-remover-and-installer-k it/#oid=1002_1 I had a heck of a time trying to find the Honda special tool and was not able to provide a link for you. Sorry about that. The Lisle tool will work just fine, OR I've seen some home made versions of that type of extension that looked like they'd work pretty well. Related videos. CHEVY Short Box step side, project HOTROD
Project 81 chevy step side. Bought it for 1250.00 with the engine thats in it. mild built chevy 350.I bought the 2 front fenders new, and found a good hood off a 87 gmc for 30 bucks. I put the flowmasters and headers on it. no cats.done at the muffler shop, got the mufflers and headers from jegs. rear spring flip kit from jegs. new wood bed floor, from (my dad), price was right, free. LOL. Needs wheels and tires, bigger tires on rear will make it so its not lower in rear, also needs to be 15x10 or 15x 12 not sure, maybe 15x3.5 on front? wanting cowl hood also, dont have money to spend, so just building and doing what I can for now. Its a long term project so some day it will be really nice. Looks alot different from the rusty farm truck I bought last year. was going to paint red, but now thinking black, not sure. still red between bed and cab in case I go red. also I dont want to put the junk front bumper back on, so I am witing to buy a new one, the old one is out back so I can use the mounts, I am not going to put the rear bumper back on, they look funny on step sides, maybe a roll pan in the future. musice by kevin mcleod royatly free music.
