2011 Mustang GT 5.0 vs BMW M3
Your doubt is understandable, but check the specs. For 2011, both
rear-drive, four-seat coupes use all-aluminum V-8 engines with
double-overhead camshafts tickling 32 valves. The M3's 4.0-liter carryover
makes 414 horsepower at 8300 rpm and
295 pound-feet of torque at 3900 rpm. The Mustang's all new 5.0-liter V-8
cranks out 412 ponies at 6500 rpm and 390 pound-feet at 4250 rpm. But the
most compelling number is 0.2: the difference in power-to-weight ratio
between the two. The Mustang carries 8.8 pounds per pony
to the M3's 8.6. And yet, at the test track, the 5.0 equals or betters the
M3 in every performance category we measure. Both hit 60 mph in 4.4
seconds, but the Mustang is
faster to the quarter mile by a
tenth of a second and 0.7 mph-12.7 seconds at 111.6 mph. It also stops two
feet shorter from 60 mph-a tie as far as we're concerned-and the GT really
shatters the M myth on the skidpad. America's original ponycar manages to
outgrip one of Germany's most iconic sports cars to the tune 0.2 second
through our figure eight and by 0.01 g in lateral acceleration.

For this test drive, we go out in the newly refined 2012 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 California Special,
equipped with the newly developed 5.0L Ti-VCT 32v V8. The purpose of the

Roadfly.com - 2011 Ford Mustang GT Review & Road Test
For 2011 the Ford Mustang
GT gets a few styling changes but more importantly gets increased horsepower and torque. With
its updated aluminum 5.0-liter V8 engine now with 4 cams and 32 valves. Not
only does it have 87 more horsepower, it will get
better mileage, too, up to 17/26 mpg city/highway for the six-speed manual.

Sorry. Recorded at a parking lot, there was not enough road to accelerate
as it should be.

This Stang is a 2011 5.0 manual V8 (don´t get confused with the different

2013 Ford Mustang 5.0 GT Test Drive & Sports Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/ford/Mustang/2013/ The 2013 Ford Mustang 5.0 GT continues the heritage
of the pony car in a big way. The base Mustang comes with a powerful V-6
engine while the GT gets the venerable 5.0 liter V-8 engine. The Mustang is a no non-sense muscle car
that combines everything from the old iconic car and combines it with
modern technology. The result is a great performing sports car that pays
homage to the Mustangs of
year gone by. The 2013 Ford Mustang base V-6 costs $22,200 while
the 5.0 GT Coupe starts at $30,300.
The 2013 Mustang GT is
powered by a 5.0 liter V-8 engine that makes 412 horsepower and 390 lb-ft. of
torque. The engine features a high 11:1 compression ratio, Coil on Plug
ignition, and variable camshaft timing. Transmission choices are either a
six-speed manual or a six-speed SelectShift automatic. Fuel economy figures
are 15 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway.
The 2013 Ford Mustang
features a new front end that looks similar to the Shelby GT500 with its
aggressive front bumper and splitter that adds downforce. The hood features
functional heat extractors. The wheels are 18-inch painted aluminum pieces.
Out back the taillights have LEDs integrated in them which really pop at
night. On the inside the 2013 Ford Mustang GT also revisits some former
glory with a big dose of modern technology. Retro meets cool thanks to the
stylish gauges and the double dip dash. The Recaro seats hint at the true
sports car heritage underneath. These seats are comfortable and very
supportive. The aluminum accents give the Mustang some flair while the interior
lighting can be adjusted to fit your mood. The Shaker Audio System includes
a few subwoofers.
The 2013 Ford Mustang GT is
a car you can have a blast in. No longer is the Mustang a straight-line Muscle car,
instead it has morphed into a true sports car with a very affordable price
tag. You can order the 2013 Ford Mustang as a coupe or a convertible.
There is a great variety of extras, options, and packages to make your Mustang stand out from the

2011 Mustang Media Drive 5.0L Day 2
We've had a number of listener requestes to see a behind the scenes look at
a media drive. So I figured there couldn't be a better media drive than the
2011 Mustang Drive. So
here's day two with the 412 HP 5.0L v8. The SoCal weather was good, the
roads were great and the car was awesome. Don't forget to check out the v6
from day one as well. Very impressive.

2011 Ford Mustang Review
Autoline correspondent Craig Cole takes us through the ins and outs of the
newest Mustangs to hit the
streets. The power and performance of the new beast is impressive, but the
question remains: will it be enough to beat the Camaro that is handily outselling
it in the market?
