Dr Wolfgang Bernhard: "Our Future Truck 2025 provides compelling answers to
the challenges that our customers will be facing in the future. Our aim
therefore is to press forward with readying this technology for the market
and to bring it to series-production standard. I am convinced that this
will open up a whole new business perspective for Daimler Trucks."
The technology of tomorrow is already a reality at Daimler Trucks, in the
shape of the Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025. The autonomously driving
truck was presented on the eve of the 65th International Motor Show for
commercial vehicles in Hanover, Germany. Its perfect synthesis of
technology and design means: The Future Truck 2025 is more than simply a
new truck; it is a key component of the transport system of the future. For
the Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025 is sparing on resources, reduces
emissions of all types, ensures maximum road traffic safety and increases
the level of networking in road transport. Goods traffic in the future will
be safer, more efficient and more connected as a result. The Future Truck
2025 thus marks a revolution for road traffic and its infrastructure, the
truck driving profession and the haulage industry as a whole.
Work continues to take the Future Truck 2025 towards market maturity -
series production on the horizon
The Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025 is far more than a remote vision. The
truck should be on our roads in ten years' time. Many of its technological
elements are already available and ready to use.
"This truck provides compelling answers to the challenges that our
customers will be facing in the future. Our aim therefore is to press
forward with readying this technology for the market and to bring it to
series-production standard," said Dr Wolfgang Bernhard, Daimler Board
Member for Trucks and Buses, at the presentation of the innovative vehicle
in Hanover. "What we are showing here today is how the transport of goods
on our roads will be running more efficient, safer and more connected in
ten years' time. I am convinced that this will open up a whole new business
perspective for Daimler Trucks ," added Bernhard.
► Mercedes Future Truck 2025 (Autonomous Driving Demo)
The Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025 constitutes a revolution in
efficiency, safety and networking, a revolution for road traffic and its
infrastructure, for professional driving and for the road transport sector.
This is not a new truck, but rather the key element in the interconnected
transport system of the future. It is being developed as part of the
"Shaping Future Transportation" initiative by Daimler Trucks to conserve
resources and reduce emissions of all kinds. Other aims are to ensure the
highest possible level of traffic safety and to Boost networking with intelligent data
management considerably for tailor-made vehicle and service solutions.
The prototype demonstrated the exciting capabilities of the
Future Truck 2025 back in the summer at speeds of up to 80 km/h in
realistic traffic situations on a section of the A14 motorway in Magdeburg,
Germany. Now the thrilling exterior and interior of that same vehicle are
One of the most interesting questions on the subject of autonomous driving
is the time horizon envisaged for its realisation. In purely technical
terms, turning it into reality on the roads is already feasible within
around five years. In terms of passenger car development cycles, a possible
start is envisaged in 2020. Owing to the more complex factors for heavy
commercial vehicles, the time horizon for such vehicles will, however, be
rather longer – realistically implementation is possible within ten
years, also in view of the legal considerations that still remain to be
The introduction of autonomous driving will not happen digitally from one
day to the next, as development is progressing in a gradual manner:
evolutionary stages are necessary to revolutionise goods haulage on the
roads. In the coming years, new and improved assistance systems will
continue to pave the clearly set-out way to autonomous driving.

Redline Review: 2015 Mercedes-Benz C400
No longer the entry-level runt in the Mercedes-Benz family, the 2015
C-class has moved significantly upmarket in design, technology, driving
dynamics, and luxury. Looking and feeling like the flagship S-class, this
all-new C400 should give BMW and Audi drivers a run for their money. Those
of you who can swallow the high price of admission will be treated to one
phenomenal sport luxury sedan. Just be sure to spend some time with the
Emily with Mercedes-Benz of Buckhead reviews the 2010 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series
Mercedes-Benz of Buckhead is one of the 34 authorized AMG centers in the
U.S. In this video episode, Emily showcases for us, Mercedes-Benzs most
powerful car ever. The SL65 AMG Black Series. The vehicle on our show room
floor is just 1 of 200 available in the U.S. Mercedes-Benz of Buckhead and
Emily are rightly excited to feature it in this latest YouTube episode.
This extreme Mercedes-Benz starts with a 6.0-liter twin turbo V12 engine.
This engine cranks up to 670 hp; with 738 pounds of torque! That is 50 more
hp then you get in a Ferrari 599! This car isnt fast-it is MIND BOGGILING
0-60 in 3.9 seconds and in an effort to not completely blow your mind,
Mercedes-Benz has limited the top speed to 199 miles per hour.
The SL65 AMG Black has a very muscular appearance, with rear wheel arches
to accommodate larger wheels and a wider body. It features a fixed hardtop
and was engineered with a liberal use of carbon fiber, a vented hood,
vented front fenders and bumper, reduces weight by 570 lbs.
It also features a retractable spoiler which generates 77 lbs. of downward
force at speeds over 75 mph.
The interior is just as sexy, with Napa leather and alcantara trim, as well
as magnesium and aluminum doors.
The SL65 AMG Black Series is an SL65 AMG on steroids.
Perhaps if you ask Emily very nicely, she will take you for a spin.

Here is an amazing Mercedes Benz SL63 but injected with power from BRABUS.
The car has a staggering 973 lb ft of torque, which makes it the most
powerful convertible in the world, after the rumoured Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport that might be
arrivng in August 2008. This is most certainly one of the rarest cars on my

2014 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6X6 vs 2014 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG! Head 2 Head Ep. 46
On this episode of Head 2 Head, Jonny Lieberman heads to Graz, Austria, the
home of one of the world's toughest off roaders - the Mercedes-Benz
G-Wagen. The last time a G63 appeared on Head 2 Head, it beat out the
all-new and quite excellent Range Rover Supercharged. This time, however,
the G63 faces even stiffer competition — another G63. Of course, this
particular G has an extra axle, because it's the $500,000+ G63 AMG 6x6!
Costing roughly twice as much as the awesome twin-turbo V-12 powered G65, the 6x6 is the ultimate
expression of the Gelandewagen... on paper. But is it actually any good? Is
the 6x6 as awesome as it looks, or is the regular G-Wagen just too well
thought out? And why is the 6-wheeled truck always jumping in the air like
that? Watch and find out!
Head 2 Head appears every other Wednesday on the Motor Trend channel.
