Mercedes-AMG GmbH, commonly known as AMG, is a subsidiary of the
Mercedes-Benz car company specializing in high-performance luxury cars.
AMG models typically have more aggressive looks, higher performances,
better handling and better stability, and more extensive use of carbon
fiber than their regular Mercedes counterparts. AMG models are typically
the most expensive and highest-performance of each Mercedes series, with
the exception of non-AMG V12 models found in the most expensive nameplates
of the Mercedes lineup.

Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (2008)These are powered by a variant of the
Mercedes-Benz M275 engine. The AMG powerplant has an all-new design of the
bi-turbo system, which features larger
turbochargers and a new, more powerful
charge-air cooling system, and the increase in the engine displacement (to
5980 cc) as well as many other engine design measures.
These are the only AMG vehicles using a 5-speed automatic transmission,
which has a torque capacity of 796 lb·ft (1,079 N·m), as the newer
7G-Tronic is limited to 542 lb·ft (735 N·m), not enough to handle the
torque from the V12 engines.
Coinciding with the facelift of the CL-Class for the 2011 model year, the
2011 CL65 AMG will have an enhanced engine, with AMG redesigning the Exhaust gas turbochargers and adding new engine electronics.
It will now make 621 horsepower, and go from zero
to 60 miles per hour in 4.2 seconds (0.2 seconds faster than the 2011 CL63), with an
electronically limited top speed of 186 miles an hour. The update will also
improve fuel economy and reduce carbon emissions by 3.5% over the outgoing
model. The 2011 S65 AMG will also receive an upgraded engine making
463 kW (630 hp) and

RENNtech Modified World's Fastest Mercedes Benz
On April 1, 2011, RENNtech regained their long standing title of worlds
fastest Mercedes Benz. Our RENNtech modified CL65, which held the long
standing previous record once again reigned supreme by shattering its
previous best quarter mile time with an unprecedented run of 10.27 @
137.46 mph at Palm Beach International Raceway. This official time makes
our CL 65 the fastest Mercedes on the planet.
The previous record of 10.51 @ 135.11 mph, also held by RENNtech's CL65,
was broken just last week by a C63 running 125 shot of Nitrous which logged a 10.41 @ 135.27 mph run on
3/25/2011. Not one to be bested and looking to regain the title; RENNtech
went back to work in search of even more from the CL 65 with further
improvements and without the use of Nitrous. Modifications to the CL 65 included an
even more aggressive race only tune, enhanced drive line modifications such
as upgraded transmission internals and a prototype torque converter and
additional light weighted vehicle components. These are in addition to the
already installed RENNtech modified ECU/TCU, carbon airbox, limited slip
differential, high flow Exhaust, drag
radials, modified heat exchanger and Intercooler pump.
