GMC Safari & Astro Van Review
This is a review of the GMC Safari or Chevrolet Astro Van. The Safari and
Astro vans are very similar General Motors vehicles, powered by the 4.3
liter V6 engine. These vans are big enough to hold a 4 x 8 sheet of
plywood, haul 8 passengers, or pull a 5,000 pound trailer. If you want to
buy a used GMC Safari Van or Chevrolet Astro Van, this video will answer
your questions. They are good vans. I love mine.

How To Remove The Engine Cover On An Astro Van or GMC Safari
Here is how to remove the engine cover on a chevrolet Astro Van or GMC
Safari Van with a Vortec V6 engine. You need to remove the engine cover
from the van to get in and do a tune up and to change the air filter. It's
easy to take the engine cover off if you know which nuts and bolts to
remove. I hope this video helps you keep your Astro Van running smooth.
How To Clean The EGR Valve On A GMC Safari Vortec V6 Engine
Here is how to clean the EGR (Exhaust
gas recirculation) valve on a GMC Safari Vortec V6 engine. If your engine
started running really rough all of a sudden, your EGR valve may be stuck
open. It's easy to remove and clean up. It is a good idea to install an
EGR valve gasket with a filter in it to prevent future carbon buildup.
Here is a link to a video I made showing the gasket:
Dans Cars over the years.wmv
GM cars that I've had over the years. The first one being a 61 Impala
Converyible. I tried to keep them in order but some are not. There are
about 12 pix missing and those aren't on here. I think there are 46 cars on
this one. Not all were driven cars but were bought to be restoration
projects but most were actually driven home. The only one that I can think
of that wasn't driven home was a 57 Chevy Hardtop which didn't have
complete engine. Some of the pix I have were sometimes after work was
started and they look like junk to the average person but, I could see them
finished! One 55 Nomad, I won several trophys with. A red 57 Chevy won
several as well. Most though were cars I fixed just good enough to drive
daily. Most were bought as used cars but about 10 or so were bought new.
New ones include, 76 Blue Van, 80 Citation, 82 Camaro, 85 Camaro, 87 GMC S10 Blazer, 92
Chev, S10 Blazer, 88 Astro van, and 2008 Tahoe. I'm missing pix of 73
Corvette, 77 new Chevy truck, 97 Chevy dually, a red 77 Camaro and a few more. Maybe
later I'll add them.
