GMC Safari & Astro Van Review
This is a review of the GMC Safari or Chevrolet Astro Van. The Safari and Astro vans are very similar General Motors vehicles, powered by the 4.3 liter V6 engine. These vans are big enough to hold a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood, haul 8 passengers, or pull a 5,000 pound trailer. If you want to buy a used GMC Safari Van or Chevrolet Astro Van, this video will answer your questions. They are good vans. I love mine.

How To Clean The EGR Valve On A GMC Safari Vortec V6 Engine
Here is how to clean the EGR (Exhaust gas recirculation) valve on a GMC Safari Vortec V6 engine. If your engine started running really rough all of a sudden, your EGR valve may be stuck open. It's easy to remove and clean up. It is a good idea to install an EGR valve gasket with a filter in it to prevent future carbon buildup. Here is a link to a video I made showing the gasket: http://youtu.be/cBUds9Nypmc

How To Replace ICM (Ignition Control Module) on GMC Safari & Astro Van
Here is how to replace the ICM - ignition control module on a GMC Safar or Chevrolet Astro van. The ICM can wear out over time and cause misfires. Sometimes the ICM is fine, but it overheats because there is not enough grease under it to help it dissipate the extra heat. This video shows you how to replace the ICM ignition control module on your GMC Safari or Astro van. It's an easy job to do. The new ICM costs around $50.

How To Change Spark Plugs And Wires On An Astro Or Safari Van
Here is how to change the spark plugs and wires on an Astro Van or GMC Safari. On any van, the spark plugs and wires can be hard to reach. In this video, I show you how to get to and change the spark plug wires on an Astro Van or GMC Safari by removing the engine cover, crawling under the van, or by removing the wheel and inner wheel well to reach the spark plugs and wires. I didn't remove the wheel or wheel well, but it does make the job easier.

How To Replace Power Steering Pump On GMC Safari Or Astro Van
Here is how to change the power steering pump on a GMC Safari or Chevrolet Astro Van. Changing the power steering pump on your van is easy, but it is also messy. To replace the power steering pump in your GMC Safari or Astro Van, buy a replacement pump and borrow or rent a pulley puller from the auto parts store. From there, disconnect the hoses and let the power steering fluid drain, then remove the pulley from the front of the power steering pump so you can get to the bolts, remove the pump from the van, and replace any rubber hoses that need replacement. The fluid return hoses are rubber, and the high-pressure hose is metal. Reattach the power steering hoses. Then use the pulley puller to put the pulley back on the power steering pump and reattach the drive belt. That's how to change the power steering pump on a GMC Safari or Astro Van with a 4.3 liter V6 engine.

Dans Cars over the years.wmv
GM cars that I've had over the years. The first one being a 61 Impala Converyible. I tried to keep them in order but some are not. There are about 12 pix missing and those aren't on here. I think there are 46 cars on this one. Not all were driven cars but were bought to be restoration projects but most were actually driven home. The only one that I can think of that wasn't driven home was a 57 Chevy Hardtop which didn't have complete engine. Some of the pix I have were sometimes after work was started and they look like junk to the average person but, I could see them finished! One 55 Nomad, I won several trophys with. A red 57 Chevy won several as well. Most though were cars I fixed just good enough to drive daily. Most were bought as used cars but about 10 or so were bought new. New ones include, 76 Blue Van, 80 Citation, 82 Camaro, 85 Camaro, 87 GMC S10 Blazer, 92 Chev, S10 Blazer, 88 Astro van, and 2008 Tahoe. I'm missing pix of 73 Corvette, 77 new Chevy truck, 97 Chevy dually, a red 77 Camaro and a few more. Maybe later I'll add them.
