From motorcycles to swamp buggies; from Pike Peak to Baja California -
"Dirt" covers the motorsports world of off-road racing and competitions.
There is humor, drama, and suspense in this light-hearted view of
off-pavement competition. Children will enjoy watching most of the movie
because of the unpredictable nature of off-road even ts
Of particular interest in the coverage of the 1976 SCORE Baja Internacional
(500); 1963 Indy 500 winner Parnelli Jones and legendary Walker Evans join
forces in their switch from Fords to General Motors products and they take
on the light and nimble Sandmaster buddies of Johnny Johnson and Bobby

Robby Gordon Stadium Super Trucks Series Announcement
Robby Gordon announces the Stadium Super Trucks series to bring off-road
racing to the masses in 2013.
Much like Mickey Thompson did decades ago, Robby Gordon hopes to bring
off-road racing to the masses by starting a new series he will call Stadium
Super Trucks. And much like Thompson, Gordon will kick off the first event
of the series in 2013 in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Ivan Stewart - "The Iron Man" [S3 Ep.1-4]
Today on GearZ, Stacey takes a well worn, '73 Chevy pickup that was left
for dead in the late 80's, and starts bringing it back to life by upgrading
the suspension and brakes. Not only is this a project that most anybody can
do, but it is the start of a three part series of the major steps that are
involved in rebuilding a vehicle. With the way the economy is and the price
of new vehicles today, this show demonstrates that there is a better option
than buying something new... bust your own knuckles and build it yourself!
Then Stacey sits down with off-road racing legend Ivan Stewart to find out
what makes him "the Ironman".
Various Quad Racing Clips from the 90's
This is an assembly of video clips I downloaded off the internet during the
mid to late 90's when 28.8 modems were hot stuff, hence the poor quality
and short clips.
The first half are shots from one of the GNC Nationals, though I don't
recall the track (it's been suggested it's Daniel Boone MX in London, Ky)
and I think were about '96 or '97-ish. Older racers may remember the series
of single jumps where people are taking spills as I think that track was
known for that feature. Notice how most of everything is a 250R! Races
sound so much different, today.
The next group is from a race in Kentucky, (possibly Backrock MX in
Millwood, Ky) I think, and maybe about '99. Don't believe it was a
national, just a local or regional race. Again, mostly 250Rs, though you
spot a banshee and a 300EX or two. You'll also see what I think is the
original "Hybrid" quad; a 350RX conversion (blue and white and with a four
stroke sound) and the clip ends with the a Super Mini, an all custom youth
sized race quad that was basically a scaled down 250R with a bored over
CR80 motor. Those are amazing to watch!
Hopefully this isn't stepping on any copyright toes; I don't even remember
where I got them.
