http://www.Facebook.com/2Redline Station wagons are such an un-loved
vehicle here in America. Which is why Toyota created the Venza, meet the
spiritual successor to the old Camry Wagon. With its higher seating
position, roomy cabin, and slightly odd looks; this vehicle is designed to
appeal to empty nesters in search of more room but without driving the
typical SUV. We think other than bland driving dynamics and an interior
that could benefit from finishing school, it's a fairy useful utility
vehicle. Toyota still has too many crossovers in their line-up though :)
Toyota Venza Review from Consumer Reports
The Venza blurs the lines between a station wagon and SUV. It's roomy, but
the ride isn't as comfortable as other Toyotas.

The 2009 Toyota Venza at the News and Record International Auto Show in
The Toyota Venza is a mid-size crossover SUV developed by Japanese
automaker Toyota and unveiled at the 2008 North American International Auto
Show in Detroit, Michigan. It is currently engineered in the United
States and built at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (TMMK) in
Georgetown, Kentucky. It has a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
estimated fuel economy of 19 mpg-US (12 L/100 km; 23 mpg-imp)/26 mpg-US
(9.0 L/100 km; 31 mpg-imp) with its four-cylinder engine.
Based on the Toyota FT-SX concept car unveiled at the 2005 North American
International Auto Show, the Venza uses the Camry chassis and will offer
Toyota's 3.5L 2GR-FE V6 and 2.7L 1AR-FE I4. Front-wheel drive and
all-wheel drive will be available as an option. It is currently Toyota's
only crossover SUV not to have a third-row seat available, as both the RAV4
and the Highlander do.
Toyota has claimed that the Venza blends the "styling and comfort of a
passenger car with the flexibility of a sport utility vehicle."
However, Toyota informed automotive magazine Motor Trend that it would pass
on entering the Venza in the publication's SUV of the Year competition.
Instead, Toyota requested that the Venza compete in the Car of the Year
competition. Motor Trend decided that the Venza should not compete in any
competition at all since its ride height is too high to be qualified as a
The Venza began production at TMMK on November 11, 2008, with over 70% of
the Venza's components coming from U.S. suppliers. Toyota projects
sales of between 75,000-100,000 Venzas per year.
The Venza will start at $25,975 for a front-wheel-drive (FWD) 4-cylinder
model, and range up to $29,250 for the all-wheel-drive (AWD) V6 edition
without options. Standard equipment is very good for a vehicle in this
class, offering Cruise Control, fog lamps, HomeLink, a 6-disc CD changer,
dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming rear view mirror, Hill-Start assist
control, power accessories, steering-wheel mounted audio controls, and the
Toyota Star Safety System, which includes Vehicle Stability Control,
Traction Control, ABS, Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Brake
2013 Toyota Venza Drive & Review
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2012 Venza is Toyota's interpretation of the
modern station wagon. Once upon a time it used to be that family haulers
came in very limited flavors but today family vehicle buyers can choose
from mini van, SUV's Crossovers and even the Toyota Venza. Think of the
Venza the offspring of a Crossover that fell in love and married a station
wagon. The result is a roomy, sleek, buff and low family hauler with 20
inch wheels. The Venza's base 182-horsepower, 2.7-liter
four-cylinder engine is just adequate to haul around the big-boned wagon.
The bigger and more powerful 268-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 does a much better job
when mated to the 6 speed automatic turning the Venza into a more exciting,
if not quite fun, car to drive.
The Venza offers solid plat form for a comfortable, well dampened and
relaxed ride. However if you are looking for a thrilling drive to work when
the kids are at school the Venza is not your cup of tea. Solid
performance...yes. Carving the back roads...no.
