This 1965 Buick Gran Sport is powered by its original numbers matching 401 CID "Nail Head" V8 engine, backed by Super Turbine 300 2-speed automatic transmission with 89,741 actual miles. The 401 "Nail Head" on this sharp GS came from the factory putting out 325 horsepower and 445 ft./lbs. of torque that will pin you to the seat. 1970 Buick GSX Engine Rebuild - RKM Performance Center
This 455cid V8 came into the shop under the hood of a 1970 Buick GSX. When new, the motor was capable of propelling the GSX to 13-second quarter mile passes in stock trim. Unfortunately, this one was way past its prime. To get this 455 back in shape, a full rebuld was called for. Technician Jon Sipple gives us a quick overview of the process.
